  1. Just got back to my desk from lunch. Can someone tell me why Sanchez isn't in the lineup for Pitt today?
  2. Headed to the game today with my sister and her bf who I have never met. Hopefully he is cool or this could be a long game.
  3. This season just keeps getting better and better. I just keep telling myself to wait for them to get hot down the stretch, but I am very doubtful that will happen.
  4. Gah UK is going to be nauseating in the next few years
  5. My prediction for Illinois next year is wrapped up in one word: Inconsistent. Our offense will be very good, our defense will blow, and I am almost positive our special teams will continue to suck. Hopefully we find a way to go 7-5, but I am not getting too excited. Hopefully we can beat Mizzou, as it is probably the only game I'll get to go to due to being graduated.
  6. I highly doubt there will ever be a 12th Big Ten team added. It is way too difficult to find a fit geographically, academically, and athletically. A list of possible options are ND, Louisville, Mizzou, Iowa St., Rutgers, or Syracuse. Of these institutions I think that ND is the only one that really fits all three levels, and they are never joining the Big Ten.
  7. I'm a little behind on my news, but with all the time Bradley has missed did he serve his suspension yet or is he still appealing?
  8. Thanks for the excellent bullpen you assembled JH. On a bright note it appears Kosuke has found somewhat of a powerstroke this year.
  9. Thanks for assembling such an awesome bullpen JH
  10. Hitting with runners on has been awful this year. We simply aren't driving guys in unless its through the HR. Really starting to get frustrating.
  11. Glad that I am not going to be there today. This looks truly miserable. Hopefully we can get this in today or tomorrow. I can't wait for summer.
  12. I'm not ready to give up on D Lee yet, but things are not looking positive at the moment. I think you need to give him at least until the second week of May in the three hole. That way the move cannot just be chalked up to a slow start. If the production does not come by then, than it is probably not going to come at all. That said it is still early, and I hope he can still get hot and be a threat.
  13. Lets do this. We should be able to beat up on Bush. Go Cubs.
  14. John Schyer and it is not even close.
  15. Sweet video. I am now thoroughly excited for tomorrow.
  16. PSU has not been to the dance in a decade, and you are trying to tell me an NIT title is more meaningful? Put down the bong. Ask a Michigan fan what they think. Making the tourney this year was a huge accomplishment, and I am sure they enjoyed this year more than their plethora of NIT title winning seasons.
  17. but no one was embarrassed by PSU's performance this year. They were on the bubble and got caught in a numbers game. I'm more disappointed in them losing the finale @Iowa, which would have gotten them into the dance. Again, it's a difference in expectations. If you thought you were a tourney team (eg Kentucky) but had to "settle" for the NIT, then yeah, I totally agree with you. If no one thought you'd be better than 10th in the Big Ten but ended up with 27 wins, what's to be down about? There in lies the problem with Penn State hoops. Your expectations. There is no reason that PSU should not be a perennial tourney team. Penn State has the resources, the facilities, and the players to be successful. It is time for the PSU fan base to raise the bar of success. The NIT is a nice starting point, but there is more out there to be had.
  18. Anyone who is proud to be the NIT champ should have their head examined. Last year I was so embarrassed by the Illini's play that I did not want to go to any post season tournament even if we were invited. The ultimate goal is always the Big Dance and to say otherwise is foolish. BTW at Illinois we don't hang NCAA participation banners, that is soooooooooo Iowa.
  19. Just got back from the Big Ten Tournament. It was an awesome day aside from the whole game part of the day. Purdue just blitzkrieged us at the start. Time to tip the hat and move on to the tourney. That said this was the first BTT I attended in Indy. Aside from the fact that there was some idiot Hoosier fan talking smack to Weber in front of me the entire and that everyone I met had some sort of twang in their speech it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. It was really great that everything was in walking experience, and I got to meet Bruce walking down the street early in the day. Hats off to Indy for a great experience.
  20. Chester Frazier hurt his right hand yesterday. It is currently being characterized as severely bruised. He may not be able to play, but none of his injuries have ever stopped him before. If he can't go this really hurts the Illini. http://illinihq.com/news/mens_basketball/2009/03/11/frazier_injured_status_uncertain/
  21. OU's case for a #1 seed rests entirely on how the committee treats the losses @Texas and to KU without Blake Griffin. But on your list I like MSU over both Louisville and Memphis. I'd probably favor MSU resume more than UConn's too. Not that the committee looks at it, but Pomeroy has Memphis as the #1 team in the country right now. I'm guessing it's because of their D efficiency. They hold those CUSA teams to 55 every night. I haven't seen Memphis play enough to pass judgment on whether they are FF caliber or not this year.
  22. Apple didn't fall far from the tree
  23. The only negative about this outing for Marshall was him GIDP. Great outing.
  24. Well seeing as Lou gave him 501 at bats last year it's pretty hard to say Lou was not patient with him.
