  1. Why shouldn't he have swung at that pitch, it was a 4 seam fastball over the heart of the plate Just carried over frustration from Rizzo also swinging at his first pitch last inning. We're not used to our two most patient hitters making outs so quickly.
  2. If a billion people wished for Kris Bryant to hit a dong, would it happen?
  3. Well, that was one of the scariest fly balls in recent memory.
  4. This game is 4-0 if the wind isn't blowing in. Luckily, Hammel has been amazing so far. And you have to think Greinke is done after this inning.
  5. Hammel only throws one more pitch. Nice.
  6. Damn, I thought both Russell and Coghlan both had hits. Greike looks like he's running out of gas, though.
  7. All this [expletive] hard contact.
  8. We forget that even with injuries, our lineup is probably better than half the teams in baseball right now. Our top five hitters in the lineup range from above-average to all-star caliber (if you want to be optimistic and call Castro above average), and even with the mediocre bottom of the lineup, how many teams are proud of their six through nine hitters? Fowler and Soler will be back soon enough, and if Schwarber gets called up in August or September and we trade for a mid-tier starter at the deadline, this team is going to be really fun to watch down the stretch.
  9. Maybe they set the pitching machine to throw kershaw curves. i know there was article in spring training that said KB set a machine to throw a wainright curve. That's ironic, since Kershaw didn't have his curve working well today.
  10. You poor saps living in Chicago where mlb.TV is blacked out for the Cubs.
  11. I'm feeling confident about this game if Wood can give us one more scoreless inning.
  12. Bryant is the best. I can't believe there was a chance of getting stuck with Appel in 2013. Also, anyone else think Rizzo's flyout was gone off the bat?
  13. Good contact from Castro. I thought it was definitely going over the CF's head.
  14. Not feeling optimistic about this one, but we did beat Roy Halladay with Jason Marquis in 2008, so anything can happen.
  15. Hurray! Good things happen to the Cubs!
  16. Has umpiring always been this bad? Or do fans have more tools available to them nowadays?
