  1. Can't expect the Cubs to score in the first inning every, or even most games. Would be nice to get a better start against a junkballer, though.
  2. you mean like 64 games? Hah. Point. I'm referring to the past month or so. Feels like we've been around six over forever.
  3. Win at baseball, Cubs. And let's actually play above .500 for a sustained period of time, please.
  4. Can we just go on a [expletive] winning streak please.
  5. Okay, back to back strikeouts looking is more annoying.
  6. I mean, major league hitters will get caught guessing all the time, but I agree that it is annoying.
  7. Nice, quick inning for Wood. Hopefully we can tear into the Indians' bullpen.
  8. Love it when we can take advantage of fielding lapses.
  9. holy [expletive] you are insufferable go back to not watching games please You're right, actually. Sorry. I should know better than to whine this much about sports.
  10. This team has been way too inconsistent for my tastes this year. Would be nice to rattle off a nice little winning streak after last night's demolition fest. And then Hammel, who's been excellent this year, comes out and shits the bed in the first.
  11. Vomit. Please come back, good Hammel.
  12. Rizzo has just been getting screwed on BABIP as of late.
  13. Just irrationally venting at all the bad luck we've seem to had over the years.
  14. The Pirate are 10-3 in June. The Cubs are 8-5. What are you babbling about. Well, the Pirates have won 18 of 23 This is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen posted here. How so? I'd call that a "tear." While the Cubs have been playing good baseball, they haven't been clipping at that ridiculous pace. Yeah, that was my point. It's probably selection bias, but the Cubs can never seem to get hot when they need to be. They won six in a row and then slumped afterward in Arizona, now we're back on the upswing, but things aren't going well tonight so far. And despite the Cubs and Pirates being projected for similar win totals preseason, we're bouncing around five games above five hundred while the Pirates win 18 out of 23. Years of watching this team have shown us that the Cubs rarely go on a tear when they need to. It happened in the 2007 and 2008 playoffs and it's happening now when the Cubs really need to keep pace with the Cardinals and Pirates, who are both immune to losing all of a sudden. There's no quantifiable explanation for it, and it's incredibly frustrating.
  15. I mean, it can still happen this year, but the Cubs are Pirates are evenly matched on paper yet the Pirates are the ones going on a [expletive] tear. Why not us?
  16. Our aces need to pitch like aces. Lester and Arrieta have looked more like number two or three starters this year.
  17. Eh, I feel fine where we are. Firmly in WC contention and the Cardinals can't keep playing at the rate they are with the injuries (I know, I know). Something something invincible pixie dust superstar [expletive].
