Soler has the rookie excuse right now, but that'll drop off by next year. We'll need to look for someone else if he can't maintain a .750 OPS, given his potential. Easier said than done, of course.
That reminded me of DeRosa's HR in game 1 of the 2008 NLDS. Almost the exact same high pop fly hit down the RF line and the way it was hit everyone thought it would end up foul or short of the wall and then all the sudden it landed for a HR. Don't remind me of that series. :(
Do the Cubs have the worst combination of underperforming offense, hard hit outs, and choking in the clutch over a season than any other team in history? It seems like it. You would think the team with the huge century-long world series drought would get some sort of karma bonus.
