  1. Edmonds again! He is embarrassing Lee and A-Ram right now in the OPS deptartment. Like I said, sign him to a 1 year deal.
  2. Brian Giles is available through a waiver deal. If I'm Hendry, I make a deal for him. Fukudome is lost.
  3. Give Edmonds a one year deal next year. I want him on this team.
  4. all of that and still no one can beat them.Who was the team that whipped their ass in a 4 game beatdown again? I think it was something like 31-11 in the 4 game set.The team that beat them escapes me.we're number one! we're number one!Didn't think you knew the answer but yes, the Cubs are number one. Check the division standings.Or see the best run differential in baseball if you want to see just how #1 they are... :-"4 game lead in the loss column is all that matters. Perhaps you know which team it was that whipped the Brewers in 4 at the end of July.? 8-)and we got swept by the white sox, too. they must be loads better than us.Cubs swept the White Sox as well. Were you trying to make a point because I'm still waiting if you are.

  8. I can't figure out if you've been serious with these posts full of Brewer fear... i'm telling you right now, they're going to win the division. I'm telling you right now you have no clue what you are talking about.
  9. 5-2 in the top of the 7th. Plenty of time with that pen of the Brewers.
  10. Sarcasm? The Brewers aren't going to win the division.
  11. 1-0 Padres on a Kuzmanov bomb. I'm thinking a 1-5 or 2-4 trip for the Brewers out west. The Padres and Dodgers are going to look like world beaters compared to the Nationals.
  12. I especially like Fukudome's comment saying: "Gerald hasn't seen me when I'm really hitting bad". Umm, yes, we all have for well over 2 months now, Kosuke.
  13. Fixed. If he produces, it's a non issue. When you are making 12M a year and came with the fan fare he did, you had better produce.
  14. Not only that, but the Cubs hold an 8 game lead over the Cardinals and a 9 game lead over both the Marlins and Mets in the loss column for that spot. The magic number for clinching a playoff spot could be down to 36 after tonight. But we're winning the division, so this is just fun to look at.
  15. No biggie. The Brewers now hit the West coast where they always struggle. We'll be 5 or 6 up in about another week.
  16. Haha! 5 runs in 4 games for the Nats? Heck, we did that in one inning against those chumps. Oh, I forgot, we are the Cubs and they are the Nationals. Carry on.
  17. Piniella really put Fukudome on notice in that article. There were a lot of warnings in his comments that I haven't heard from Piniella about other players not performing. I 100% agree with Piniella when it comes to Fukodome but where are the comments warning Howry and Lee? Granted, Lee is more likely to turn it around but there are plenty of options that have been better then Howry. I have been on Fukudome for months now, so this is no surprise that Piniella has finally called him out.
  18. I would. Felix Pie has thus far proven to be Corey Patterson but with a better attitude. There is nothing about Pie that tells me he'll turn the corner next year. A lot depends on Piniella as well. If we win it this year, I'd expect Lou to retire with the ultimate feather in his cap. If that happens, Pie has a chance to win the job next year under a new manager. If we don't, Pie won't have a chance. Lou doesn't put up with mediocrity and Pie has proven to be just that.
  19. Z has at least 9, probably 10 starts left. The Cubs have 46 games left, which means with a 5 man rotation (9 starts x 5 man rotation = 45 games), he is assured of at least 9 starts. If the Cubs are in need of big W in Spetember, Lou could juggle the off days and get him another start or two. As far as this game goes, I'd say 7-3 Cubs.
  20. We do not need to be concerned with what the Brewers do. As I recall, we spanked them in a 4 game sweep and served notice to them that the Cubs are the team to beat. They need to worry about us, not the other way around. Of couse, you'd like a 10 game lead so you can coast. It's good if they lose but the Cubs just need to keep doing their thing and they'll win the division.
  21. Yes, he has been with the team since May and has played very, very well. However, IMO, he became a true Cub today. After he hit his first HR and flung his bat towards Larussa/Cardinals bench and stared in, at that moment, he's one of ours. Yep, Jim Edmonds gets this rivalry. He signed here in May for two reasons: A chance to win a championship and to stick it to the Cardinals. If he wasn't hated by Cardinals fans after he signed here, he most certainly is now after what he did today. 8-) He feels like one of ours after today. We love to beat the Cardinals and not just beat them, but destroy them. After today, Edmonds is one of us in that he feels the same way.. :yahoo: Eat it, Cardinals fans.
  22. And 8 in the loss column! 8-) Henry Friggin Blanco! Best b/u catcher in the game.
