  1. This park, Tropicana field, Petco park, Sky dome, Oakland coliseum and the Metro dome can use a wrecking ball. These are not Baseball parks, they are parking lots.
  2. When you are 27 games over .500, you're not going to mess with the lineup very much. No way Piniella takes him out of the 3 hole now, although it should have happened a month and a half ago.
  3. Derrek had been slumping with hitting into Double plays, he had to come through with one there.
  4. who do you suggest we upgrade to? That Texiera dude. 8-)
  5. That's Lee for you. A weak fly out to right, or an easy grounder to short. Regardless of the outcome of this season, I'm all for an upgrade at 1B next year. I know Lee is under contract and maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit. But, IMO, Lee is not that great.
  6. Wait, wait, the Brewers lost again? See, this poster sullymon said this the other day: i think we win the wild card, there's just no holding off the brewers. I i'm telling you right now, they're going to win the division  If only the Cubs could get hot and start winning some games, we might get like 6 up in the loss column. :rotfl:
  7. And a Douche as well. Check out his postgame comments regarding Lilly hitting Escobar. Does he not remember last year when the Braves were punks? Does he not remember they put Soriano on the DL for a month and a half? "There's no doubt it's not going to cool down any time soon," Atlanta's Jeff Francoeur said. "Lilly threw at [Edgar] Renteria last year, threw over [brian McCann's] head last year, and then suddenly hit Escobar. You can't do that. "If you pimp a homer, you deserve to get hit, but [Escobar] didn't do anything and he didn't deserve that." So, it's ok for a Brave to throw at Soriano's head and prior to that, break his finger? But, heaven forbid, we hit Escobar and it's not deserved. Total Douche.
  8. A-RAMABOMB!! Are the Braves announcers still making fun of Ramirez' roads splits? 8-)
  9. Nice going Fuku and Lee. 1st and 2nd, no outs. Lets go!!
  10. I'd use Ted in the playoffs if we are up 3 games to 0, but other then that I think I like him better in the pen for the playoffs. He a great 4th starter, that's it.
  11. I seriously want him nowhere near the playoff rotation. Z - Harden - Dempster. Repeat. What, his 30 gopher balls (Is it 30?) do not instill confidence in you? Me, either.
  12. Nice, Ted. He is so damn frustrating this season. Bases loaded and all of this after 2 outs and no one on.
  13. When Lilly loses it, he doesn't mess around, he gets very Marque esque.
  14. 7 pitch inning 8-) . In other news, the Astros are smoking hot and are now 3 over .500. They are in the wild card hunt, sorta. The NLC has 4 teams over .500 now.
  15. Kinda surprised not many people have mentioned Lee as a concern.
  16. It's hard to be critical of a team that has the record that they have but is there anything that causes you to be concerned with them? My biggest concern is the production (or lack thereof) of Fukudome and Lee. Kosuke's slide has been well documented and he needs to get it together again. However, I am far more concerned with Lee. He's our 3 hitter who's OPS is worse then Fontenot's. Seriously, how can Lee continue to hit 3rd when he has turned into a singles hitter? Lee's at bats have become very easy to call: "Ground ball to short, fly out to right or a single. The starting rotation is as good as there is in Baseball, so no real concerns there. I'm very happen with how the pen is setting up, so no real concerns there. Neil Cotts has stepped up and Jeff Samardzija has been mostly lights out. Add Gaudin to the mix and Carlos Marmol back to being dominant, along with Wood being back, we're looking solid there. Another concern I have is Piniella's in game managing. There are too many instances to go over on this one, but I think you all know what I'm talking about. I do think Lou makes up for it in that he holds players accountable when they aren't producing. The guy doesn't take any crap and I think that attitude has carried over to the team. Overall I think this is the deepest, fundamentally sound team since 1984. They do 90% of the things you need to do in Baseball the correct way.
  17. The Cubs will just take care of the Brewers themselves like they did 2 weeks ago. The Brewers got hot after we left town and they are still 4 back in the loss column. I'd be steamed if the Cubs won 7 in a row (8 after tonight) and they could only pick up 1 game in the loss column during that time. Not only that, this is about as soft a schedule as the Brewers could ever see. The Cubs have faced the Astros (Red hot and over .500), Cardinals and now Braves, while the Brewers have had the Reds, Nationals and Padres. With that decided scheduling advantage, they have picked up a mere game. They'll get swept or lose two of three in LA.
  18. Fun stat: (Actually an unreal stat) The Cubs have outscored their opponents 49-13 in the their last 6 road games.
  19. What could they possibly be bashing our hitters about? 14-2 in runs scored in 12 innings so far.
  20. So, is anyone else concerned with Lee? He has been awful.
