That's not good. It's possible that he won't even get the Thursday start-if management decides that he is not right for the 5th spot, then I could easily see them not wanting him to start on Thursday because he will likely be recalled on Friday as a reliever. If that happens then (or if he pitches on Thursday and isn't absolutely outstanding) then I don't think he'll get another chance at starter for at least another month. If Marmol keeps pitching like he did his last two outings, Guzman may not get that chance. not saying that marmol is a bust, but he was disturbingly bad with the cubs last year. Personally, I'd like to see him groomed as a closer. His walk rate was indeed disturbingly bad last year @ 6.9/9IP but if he significantly improves on that I think he can be pretty good.Also, I'm curious as to why he tends to be viewed as a reliever, I assume he doesn't have an effective 3rd pitch?
