I'm quite sure you are right; I had that issue last year when Jorge Sosa was in the rotation, but only listed as eligible at RP on Sportsline. That was cancelled out, however, with Schilling being in the Red Sox bullpen but only eligible at SP on Sportsline. I believe Juan was able to override the Sportsline listings and switch them around.

I too am impressed with Dusty's managing so far. It's going to take more than one week to fully convince me, but maybe you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

As long as Prior and Wood return to form, I'll consider anything from Miller to be a bonus. He was signed to a no-risk contract much like Dempster and Williamson (except without the option, I believe), so if he doesn't pan out, no big deal. It would be nice if he does so the Cubs can have some more trade bait, but with Wood and Prior the Cubs would have a nasty rotation, Miller or no Miller.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Drew is a trip to the DL waiting to happen. Furcal should give good offense as well as a bunch of stolen bases. Unless there's an injury concern about Furcal (I haven't paid that much attention), I'd jump all over that offer before the other owner comes to his senses and withdraws it.

I believe we traded Sanchez (I don't recall his first name), a minor league pitcher. -
There's been discussion of this in the threads announcing the rosters. There seems to be some speculation that he's remaining behind in extended spring training to work his pitch counts up, and that when he does he'll be added to Peoria. I don't think anything's been mentioned officially.

Click on Register/Login at the bottom of rhe page and log in using your e-mail address and password (you can either do this from cubs.com or mlb.com, since they're linked). Then click on User Preferences, click on the Change button by Nickname, and enter your desired name. My guess is that you didn't enter a nickname when you registered, and therefore it displays your user name (which is your e-mail address) rather than a nickname.

True fans NEVER root for their players to actually fail. Instead, what you should root for is for Dusty to use him properly and for him to succeed in that role. -

That's happened way too often. Usually, when the Cubs won big one game, you could almost count on the next game being a loss. But maybe the 2-1 losses of recent years will turn into 3-2 wins this year. :D -

The Indians are one team tht has quite a bit of history signing players to long-term contracts before they qualify for free agency (Grady Sizemore is the latest). It benefits the team because it delays the possibility of the player leaving. -

I hadn't heard. what happened? Dopirek broke his foot in West Tenn's season opener and is expected to miss at least six weeks. There's a thread about it in the Minor League forum. -

Two of my pitchers (Schilling and Chen) are pitching against each other tonight. Good chance of coming up with a win here. :D I have to root for Schilling in this matchup, since I also have him on my team in another league.

After my original streak ended at four (thanks to Rollins' MLB streak ending), I'm now back up to two thanks to Aram yesterday and DLee today. I'm sticking with Lee again tomorrow.

There's a Harry Caray tribute website that has both audio and video clips. They have clips of him leading the 7th inning stretch, a couple of the old Cub Fan Bud Man commercials, and his infamous blooper about Marla Collins without her shorts, but unfortunately him singing about Jody is not on there. I think that site has been ignored by its owner for some time, as they still have the 2004 schedule posted.
