  1. Um, there isn't a cap in baseball.
  2. I'm pretty sure the '07 draftees (selected first round players, anyway) were added on Wednesday. And I think it was Monday when I checked. I should have checked again before waivers were processed; the All-Star break seems to be a logical time to update the database.
  3. ugh, what's the point hopefully to take a rotation spot in Chicago 8-) Thats not even funny in the slightest. Miller hopefully is done with the big league club. Maybe he will hit 85 on the gun tomorrow Keep in mind Nathan is a Cardinals fan. :pukel: Ah I didnt know that :D He started broadcasting for Peoria when they were still the Cardinals' affiliate and the Cubs' team was Lansing.
  4. Damn, I'd just checked earlier this week and they hadn't been added yet. :x

  6. I've been giving Larry the benefit of the doubt ever since Lou was hired last fall, and he's certainly earning it big time this year. This is an example of how sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make.
  7. On the DL due to the injury he sustained warming up for the All-Star game. :P Fixed. :D
  8. In 1994, at the time the season ended prematurely due to the strike that wiped out postseason, Texas was in first place in the AL West with a 52-62 record. We'll never know if the division champion would have been below .500 had the season been finished, but given how far below .500 the leader was it's quite possible it would have happened.
  9. I'd already done some of that myself (Mark Cubfan) long ago when there were threads about Cuban even before it was announced that the Cubs would be sold.
  10. Amazingly, five HOURS later and it's still up. The Youtube Police are slacking off. :D
  11. And it started up again. Your thread-ending superpowers burn off quickly.
  12. and you're super modest too. He's a legend in his own mind. :D
  13. http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/635898.html No mention of the bird incident.
  14. There's a simple solution to this. Time for Cub fans to band together and hire a hit man to take care of Reinsdork and $elig. :D
  15. I think the chances are pretty good. Especially if he resigns with the Yankees. They are already getting 33 million from the Rangers for ARod.I've heard that if he opts out though they lose that money. I don't know if that's is true just what I heard on the radio. I'm sure that is the case; I was about to post the same thing. If he opts out that voids the remainder of the contract and the Rangers are off the hook.
  16. Disco Demolition Night revisited.
  17. Same with me. I want flexibility in case any of my players go down for an extended period of time due to injury. Those making both moves now are boxing themselves in if any of their players go down later.
  18. He'd be a good source of revenue for MLB, as he would probably accumulate a lot of fines. :D
  19. I remember Walker doing well to start the season, which is why I was surprised he was sent down that far. I suspect you're right about the reasoning though; I get the feeling that the Cubs see Walker as organizational filler rather than a major league prospect, so he's a spare part that goes wherever there's an opening. And Pie getting sent back down to Iowa takes the opening away there.
  20. Bye bye Koyie Hill. Not so fast... Cubs.com Another article on cubs.com (the one I posted, which was just from yesterday) said that Dempster is expected back IMMEDIATELY after the All-Star break. So unless something has changed just in the last day Carrie Muskat (who wrote both articles) is now contradicting herself.
  21. That's what I was referring to when I said that cubs.com was contradicting earlier reports. The setback is the earlier report I meant that was now being contradicted.
  22. Cubs.com is contradicting earlier reports and stating that Dempster is expected back immediately after the break. Undoubtedly Hill or Bowen would go, taking care of the three catchers issue.
