  1. Did I??? Sorry!!! I will check, if I did (and it matters), please erase my last two starts Juan. Edit: I admit that with my vacation and all, that I haven't been paying close attention. But I checked the STATS page for this past week and it shows that I had 7 starts. 2 from Silva and Lowe, and 1 from Contreras, Buehrle, and Millwood. But the funny thing is that I remember that Buehrle did start twice for me. Juan, did you already delete two of my starts? yes Thanks. Again, my apologies for the slip up. BTW - Hamburg is great! As I said before, no big deal as far as I was concerned because you had me beat anyway. It's easy for something like this to happen when one doesn't have daily Internet access since, to the best of my knowledge, you can't edit your lineup in advance for a specified future date (as you can with Yahoo).sure, you can, all you have to do is click the data you want to set the lineup for at the top of the screen and then make your changes. That change will be effective only for that date gone forward. Third year in the league and I'm still learning things. :D
  2. I prefer over fence. :D
  3. After losing the last two weeks, not losing this week is good. :D

  5. I agree. Murton, Cedeno, or Soto (in that order). man, you know the awesome thing about those kids? they can all be called up! and...with the benefit of dumping... jones, izturis, and eyre! rawk! too bad this will never happen Do you want a better team or a more cost efficient team? Actually, the relevant question is whether the Trib wants a better team or a more cost efficient team. I think there's no question that almost everybody who posts here wants a better team.
  6. Just close? Where have you been the past few years? :D
  7. I just dropped Paulino in a fantasy league. That should guarantee him a good second half. :D
  8. I remember reading about that incident. After that fan voting was discontinued for over 10 years. Back then there was actually a limit of one vote per person, I believe.
  9. Since it's now the All-Star break I believe now is the time to make the change (if desired) for the wild card choice. Are we supposed to post those here, or PM them like we did the original wild card choice? And if PM, to Laura or Southpaw? Enquiring minds want to know. :D
  10. Sounds like fun. I'd love to have a minor league All-Star Game close by some year (preferably the Southern League playing their game at Carolina so I can see some Cub farmhands).
  11. There are at least a couple of web sites (Yahoo! Sports, ESPN) that have depth charts. I really don't follow them enough to know how up-to-date they are.
  12. Actually that's already happened four times in the past (Jim Konstanty, Rollie Fingers, Willie Hernandez, and Dennis Eckersley).
  13. Prince Fielder.
  14. I had to go with the future Cubs' shortstop. :D
  15. patterson grounded into a DP just before walrond was removed, and walrond was running from first to second on the play. I'm guessing that he got hurt somewhere during that play. Maybe he pulled a hamstring or twisted an ankle or knee.
  16. Not a big deal since I was going to lose anyway, but I think Quakers had 9 starts this week (2 each from Buherle, Lowe, Silva, and Millwood, and 1 from Contreras). He probably just forgot to deactivated his scheduled starters for today. Since Silva had another negative point outing the combined result of the two excess starts was only about 10 points, nowhere near enough to make the difference.
  17. That escalator clause and his 10/5 rights will make trading him next to impossible, imo. Did they give him the escalator clause? I thought the Sox said no to that. That's what ESPN is saying: Also, Williams was interviewed during the telecast of the Futures Game and he said that the agreement did include trade protection short of a full no-trade clause (although he didn't give specifics).
  18. I wonder if Walrond got hurt; that seems like an awful short outing otherwise.
  19. Wah. Mommy, make the big bad bullies stop moving my posts.  Wow, how mature of you! If you want to move/add/delete posts go for it. If that's really what you want to be doing at 2 in the morning, good for you. Seriously though, I think it's silly, but whatever. No big deal. It wasn't me who moved your post to the existing thread; I was commenting on your continuing to make a federal case out of a minor issue. You'll note that Tim also commented on your griping (although in a more succinct manner).
  20. Actually, I think you were changing your future lineup, not today's. It still shows Byrnes in your lineup for today. It didn't make sense to me when I realized that, if you'd changed your lineup for today, that would have meant that Wickman would have simultaneously been on both of our rosters.
  21. That's close enough to still have a chance. I'm down by 56, which is another story altogether (especially with no pitching starts remaining).
  22. You must have just beat the deadline to make changes in time for today's game. As soon as I got notification of your acceptance I went to change my lineup and it was too late to take effect today. No real problem, though; I'm beyond hope this week anyway.
  23. Welcome. Out of curiosity, who's Tinkers? :D I actually think Rothschild has done a good job this year. I don't think he needs to be replaced. I didn't think that way the last couple of years, but more and more I'm believing the reports that the problem wasn't Rothschild himself, but rather that Dusty refused to listen to him. I know no one ever believes posts like this, but trust me, it's true. I know a friend of Larry Rothschild and I've heard that he and Dusty got along poorly. Dusty was far more inclined to listen to Dick Pole about pitching matters than he was to Larry Rothschild. Dusty never wanted Rothschild in the first place; Rothschild was the only coach with time remaining on his contract when Dusty was hired, so Dusty was stuck with him. Pole had been one of "Dusty's boys" going back some time, so he's who Dusty really wanted as pitching coach. One thing that always puzzled me is why they didn't just flip-flop Rothschild's and Pole's coaching assignments. That way Dusty would have had his choice as pitching coach, and since Rothschild is a former manager he would have fit in as a bench coach.
