  1. Yea, the helmet throw was 100% on Fields. Not sure how that's even arguable. My first thought live was, "damn, what dumb luck that the ball gets tipped up that high in that spot". But seeing the replay, I have no idea how a 6'3" QB thinks he's going to throw the ball over a 6'5" DT with a release at 5'11". Just a ridiculously bad arm angle attempt. heres a view of it from the endzone, he's got Kmet in the middle with pretty close coverage, and had he not hit the commanders helmet, would likely have hit Kmet in the numbers. it wasnt a stupid throw, believe it or not;. If he lofts this, its likely picked Patrick and SM both get stood straight up and blown back several yards on the play. Washingtons DL played it exactly the way they should have. It was a predictable outcome and not a great play design by Getsy
  2. that was Fields worst throw of the night, and it wasn't only bad because the TE he was throwing to shouldn't be in the NFL. If there is a criticism of JF's throw, its that he could have put more air under the ball instead of such a flat throw. A better criticism might be that the GM has tanked the team around JF, so you get what you get He had some other candidates for worst throw. There was one in the red zone that landed in front of the WR. There was the one in our own zone that hit a DB in the hands as he was sliding. There was the one that plunked straight off a DL's helmet. The one that hit the DL's helmet was 100% on Patrick's shitty block, and probably why pff scored him in single digits for the night

  4. I've seen a lot of people blaming the TE on this throw, because he did lumber out of his break and was moving way too slow. Even "experts" are saying Fields threw it to a spot and the TE has to get there. And ya'll know I love Justin, but there's 0 way I'm buying that. All that may be 100% true. Fields may have thrown it to a spot that a slow TE stumbled slowly to try to get to, but that's a fast break slam dunk. It simply has to be complete, doesn't care how flashy the throw, give the guy a chance to catch it as easily as the throw was thrown. Even Fields mentioned that the TE could have run faster, which I thought was odd to say. I agree with you. If Kmet is running that route he gets to the ball (whether he catches it is another story...) but knowing a slow lumbering TE is running that route he has to make a better throw there. or, find a better TE and get rid of the slow, lumbering TE

The TE looks like he has no idea if JF is going to throw it to him and JF looks like he's expecting the TE to run to a spot.
  6. I see your point but don’t you think saying the Bears have a good run game is too broad a statement? They break out some fantastic long runs and I love that, but I also feel like the dives up the middle often fail. I mean, statistically I can prove the Bears have a good run game. It's not too broad. It's a fact. 3rd in yards, 7th in YPA. "They break out some fantastic long runs and fail on dives up the middle" is not something you can probably prove. Even if you could, they still do in fact have a good run game. And a team that averages 5.2 yards per carry, should have pretty good odds of getting 1/2 a yard middle, outside or otherwise. they should be able to but they are hampered by a pop-warner OC
  7. Smith-Marsette is a dbl edged sword, he gets open so Fields is able to locate him and put the ball on his face mask but S-M can't catch. It's astonishing
  8. It's stunning how this team falls flat on their face inside the 20. Little stupid mistakes by players and/or Getsy. To me, Getsy isn't "fine", he's just as much a rookie and looks overmatched because of it People were bitching that the Bears ran too much in the redzone. Well, they got what they wanted and Getsy called pass plays it 8 of the last 10 redzone plays. Granted, the ones at the end had time constraints, but again I say....if Fields is working with a bad supporting cast, how can you fault Getsy who's working the same bad cast, plus what may be a bad QB? Well, considering he's a bad OC, he fits the role well.
  9. I'm disappointed with the product on the field, regardless of experience. I agree it says more that veterans like Patrick, Reiff and Schofield who were brought in to secure this line have been awful. I get they want to get worse before better but doing so at the expense of Fields puts them back further compared to giving him some protection and weapons. It's not a coincidence the current run of bad QBs runs parallel to the current run of horsefeathers GMs and Poles is looking like another one. The opportunity to improve this team is there, they have cap space. OBJ Daryl Williams Quinton Spain They would immediately improve this team and give Fields a chance. It's not about the playoffs or anything like that but they're going to Tim Couch his career and for the next year or two, they need to see what they have. With this crap supporting cast, you'll still have no clue. This is a sentiment that many people share. I went back and forth with a dude that wants Reiff in there now for Braxton Jones. And I think the disconnect is our goals as fans aren't the same as the goals of the front office. Fans want to build up Fields to be the next great QB in this league. Poles' goal isn't to build up Fields, it's to build up the 53-man roster. That's why you saw him taking what he thought were BPAs over pigeonholing picks to OL or WR in Round 2. That's probably a big reason why you have Jones, Jenkins and Borom starting on the OL. Guys like Beckham, Williams, Spain, Reiff and Schofield don't really serve a purpose. They are all 1-year guys. Granted, Beckham could be more, but that simply isn't happening. He isn't going from SB ring to the worst team in the league even if he could potentially put up astronomical numbers as the only good player on the team. But there's really no reason for a rebuilding team to bring in a bunch of 1-year veterans to salvage what we already knew was going to be a lost season. Poles is trying to develop 53 players, or at the least 22-35 long-term starters and contributors to the overall team. Bears fans are trying to develop 1 great QB. Granted, the best way to win games in the NFL is to develop 1 great QB.....but clearly Poles feels like he needs to build this thing from the ground-up, at every position at the same time. And if the QB he didn't pick doesn't survive it, so be it (his opinion). Can't wait to see the noodle armed oaf he drafts to replace Fields who sets the franchise back once again. For the first time in a long time, I had a strange, overhanging feeling that I hadn't had since Wannstadt was coach. This org is a disgrace - they have no idea what they are doing or where they are going
  10. Getsy is fine. You have one of the best run games in the league. Your OL should be able to get you 1/2 a yard. Plus, it's weird to feel for Justin not having anything to work with and then blame Getsy, who is working with the same people (plus Justin). It's stunning how this team falls flat on their face inside the 20. Little stupid mistakes by players and/or Getsy. To me, Getsy isn't "fine", he's just as much a rookie and looks overmatched because of it
  11. Letting Daniels go was horsefeathering stupid. You can't tell me he wouldn't be a better C than Mustipher. Daniels was drafted with the idea of possibly becoming a C He's not even playing C now for a team with a similarly bad OL I realize that but it just doesn't seem possible that he'd be a worse choice than SM. SM either completely whiffs on pass blocks or gets stood straight up on a bull rush, either way it causes catastrophic results
  12. I'm more in between than I was two weeks ago. He's gone from indescribably awful to just regular bad. We can ride out another season and a half of this to see if he develops. He's hitting guys in their hands/faces and they can't catch the horsefeathering ball and your thought is "..derrrp er ya Fields is just bad"
  13. Oh and as someone else said, Ryan Fitzpatrick is a tool
  14. His early draft results have been real bad... Even with Brisker. Forgot to mention Reiff and Schofield too. Pringle, etc. St. Brown, Pettis, etc Letting Daniels go was horsefeathering stupid. You can't tell me he wouldn't be a better C than Mustipher. Daniels was drafted with the idea of possibly becoming a C
  15. What can Fields do? Ask for a trade?

  19. It went off his horsefeathering face
  20. Fire everyone and start over
  21. No, not at all, bears are the worst
  22. This is the most fun I've ever had watching nfl football - said by nobody
  23. Wentz is hurt, so it's simple "take advantage of the Bears terrible run D" and they are just old school "Hog"'ing it down their throats
