  1. You're just hoping the Jets bail out GB from the Rodgers end of career mushroomstravaganza with a flood of picks and other assets I would welcome another year of AR starting for the Packers. Will relish every game until he’s done playing for them. If he’s traded or retires, so be it. And as a fan, I’ll move on to rooting forJordan Love. Sure, but the Packers will suck and the rest of us will be happy because of that It's one of the few things about the future I am genuinely excited that I'll get to witness
  2. The returns seem light and I'm not a fan of Skoronski that high. Yea, they only net (1) additional 1st rd pick while dropping 6 slots? No thanks. McShames reason is "well, tge have Justin Fields, they don't NEED a top 5 pick" F-that, Poles NEEDS all the 1st rd picks he can get
  3. Van Ness would be a good pick with one of their 2nds, but at 9 I'm prolly taking the best available 3 tech, not an edge. Van Ness is trending toward the top 15 and the best available 3-tech at 9 will either Jalen Carter, who had an arrest warrant issued last week or IMO a guy like Calijah Kancey, who is not worthy of a top 15 pick. Interesting thing at 9 becomes is a CB the best player on the board? Or do the Bears reach for Smith-Njigba, who they supposedly love and Fields obviously would love? If Carter is there at 9, I'd prolly draft him. He was racing, he has some growing up to do, but he's also an incredible talent. I don't put racing on the same level as what Watson was doing
  4. Van Ness would be a good pick with one of their 2nds, but at 9 I'm prolly taking the best available 3 tech, not an edge.
  5. Does that make you less interested in trading with them? I assume so when you consider future picks we'd be getting in the trade. Also, whomever he trades the #1 to will forever be compared to Poles. It will be Young (or Stroud) vs Fields. It will matter less how talented Carolina is outside of QB
  6. you'd have to be all in on the idea that Poles can make this happen and Fields is putting up numbers, meaning its more a matter of XP than FG. I mean...that could happen
  7. It's an off-season that will either make a legend of Poles or knock his career to smithereens, but here we are and he got us here.
  8. didnt old Comiskey have some kind of area in left field that was open to the public w/o tickets? A friend of mine who is a WS fan claims there was way back in the day, and he seems to think it was nearly at field level eta: the Picnic area, and it appears to actually be right field:
  9. I dont have an issue with the players stealing signs during play, or coaches/managers clueing in players in the dugout or via a 1st or 3rd base coach, but when you've got organizational dudes using a camera in the outfield, sending in signals to some dude who's banging on a tub I feel like you crossed a line. Plus horsefeathers Houston
  10. I think it’s shameful to tank professional sports seasons and that’s all Chicago teams do now. Every other big city team/organization manages to take a year or two step back before rebounding. Chicago has embraced the tank and should be embarrassed, but aren’t. Wait, are you saying no other "big city" team has ever tanked? In any sport? I think that's a bit hyperbolic. I dont think he's saying that, I think he's saying that no other "big city" has seen their teams embrace the tank across sports (baseball, football, basketball, hockey etc) quite like Chicago has in the last 20 years or so
  11. yea, I was coming here to post the Stroud snippet. pretty telling that Field's former teammates are basically telling Poles to give him a supporting cast
  12. I think it’s shameful to tank professional sports seasons and that’s all Chicago teams do now. Every other big city team/organization manages to take a year or two step back before rebounding. Chicago has embraced the tank and should be embarrassed, but aren’t. its become so endemic to Chicago sports that even Tim is trying by jettisoning nsbb!
  13. That doesn't really explain why he was amazing, exploded his kneecap, then immediately stopped being amazing. the signstealinggate Houston happened in between as well - meaning yelich probably realized the gig was up
  14. Kancey ran a 4.67! he basically is Donald
  15. I'd say they are reaches at #4. I'd hope to heaven Anderson was still there, there aren't any others that excite me at #4. Better to go down further and get more picks
  16. There are 3 tiers of 2nd contracts for RBs. The elite tier is 15-16M/year = McCaffery, Elliott, Kamara The 2nd tier is 12-12.6M/year = Aaron Jones, Henry, Mixon, Chubb Then the 3rd tier is all the way down at 7-8M/year = Conner, Fournette, Ekeler Now there's a guy in each tier that probably shouldn't be their (Elliott down 1, Henry and Ekeler up 1), but I think Montgomery would rightly value himself in that 2nd tier. Maybe he's not on Derrick Henry's level, but he's clearly better than Fournette and James Conner. And Barkley obviously belongs in that elite tier. So, you're talking about 12M for Montgomery vs. 15M for Barkley. Barkley is worth that difference. Now to be fair, Montgomery may not get 12M on the open market as all those guys re-signed to avoid hitting the market, so there may not be an open market to pay a guy that much. But that's besides the point for the Bears who would be paying for him NOT to hit the market. I guess there's a scenario where he hits the market, realizes he's not valued in that 2nd tier and signs back with the Bears for like 7-8M/year, but that's risky for the Bears to let him hit the market. And still, if the Bears miss out on Barkley, they could go much cheaper than 7-8M for a backup RB and give the reins to Herbert. Sign Barkley
  17. Give it like 20 years like the rest of us So, you. Are you in the TC? Was. Left mpls 14 years ago at the trough of the housing bubble. I'm an architect, hooked up with a firm near Seattle. Been here since But, I'm a golden gopher, undergrad and grad
  18. does this mean we can finally ban tim

  20. We already have that Second compromise: so how about all of that with twice as much traffic? What are you thinking, internet porn?
  21. Compromise: we'll create a site no one likes. We already have that
  22. Kane drove the price down by saying he'd only go to NYR (or implying that), but in general he's also no spring chicken. His production outside the last few games has been pedestrian
