  1. I love it when the OC talks about what the other team is dictating, rather then what he could dictate: "He said he veered from the plan in part because of game situations and the styles of defenses the Bears faced -- often opponents lined up their ends wide, which makes it more difficult to move the pocket." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-31-pompei-bears-chicago-dec31,0,5974410.column
  2. f-you crowd!!! or, just plz look at the clock http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-31-jay-cutler-box-dec31,0,3689832.story
  3. the bears hiring a new coach scares the hell out of me
  4. the only thing the bears were at risk of by not taking that time out was the Vikings going to the 2 pt conversion. if they miss that, they loose the game, if they kick the e pnt, the game goes to overtime. Besides, with Cutler's struggles in late and tight situations, so realistically the only chance the Bears really had at that point was a good kick return. And when was the last time RT called an excellent 2-min drill (which he would have had to going against a very good - albeit injured - D)? Rare to never. it makes perfect sense to let the game go to OT I had no problem with Lovie's non-call there. There are plenty of other likely reasons to call for his head, but that situation is overblown in those regards.
  5. bears were up, at home. giving the Vikings more time to collect themselves and ACCEPTING that they will score is moronic
  6. This is how Lovie plays not to lose, instead of playing to win. His goal at all times is for the clock to run out before anything bad happens. They never try to keep time for their own potential drive, they never try to get one last score before half. It is a cowardly way of playing football. This is the style of football that minimizes coach criticism, because the media never questions it, but would question it if something bad actually happened. I don't know what the hell you people are talking about. on mn's last drive (and under 2:00 min to go) I count 3 incomplete passes, 3 to's called, 1 by Chicago. are you saying Lovie should have called 3 to's consecutively? I don't get your reasoning, it just wreaks of "Lovie sucks, lets pile on him!!!" it was a great game, both teams actually played very well. bitching over time use considering what each side did is moronic
  7. coach or capital punisher?
  8. f-that kill the lions, go bears!!!
  9. What is unclear? It's about how the win vs the Vikings may have changed perception about several things heading into the offseason. well, its 5 paragraphs long and doesn't shed any new light or thoughts on the situation. The title has to do with Lovie's job, and only the last paragraph actually mentions him. I don't understand who is your intended audience is (nsbb or the public at large) or what the subject really is. I was expecting to see a much better thought out discussion on how the emergence of Aroshamodu implicates Lovie's inability to judge talent (which I'm not sure is the case, especially if RT makes personnel decisions), or if it was to illustrate the new-found fountain of youth we may (or may not) have. All it really says is we have a couple of kids who did some nice things and Lovie's job security is more or less irrelevant in respect to the game. In total, all it really did was spur more convo here on the subject, so I'm wondering whats the point of the other site?
  10. I'm really not sure what your article is about
  11. "highly doubtful"? pack it up CT, get ready for next year
  12. i dont mind Lovie, I'm not convinced he's the issue
  13. Also helped that Ray Edwards has been absolute garbage for the last month. Really though the Bears completely made Allen and Kevin Williams non-factor's. Why am I still talking about this [expletive] game? brie perhaps?
  14. Phat Will isn't their pass specialist, but i did see a few nice holes in the middle where he would have been
  15. you want some cheese with that whine? boo hoo hoo, the bears won this game, not the vikings blowing it. and not justfor ap's fumble (which was actually caused by chicago), the bears just beat them Hey [expletive], get a clue and realize it was a spoof of sulley's "Only my team" posts in this thread and every game his teams ever play. And I like sulley. but I have Gorgonzola!! and some nice chianti!! :(
  16. btw, I just want to pimp Williams again. he played a pretty good LT. He was against Jared Allen, and that isnt a small task.
  17. you want some cheese with that whine? boo hoo hoo, the bears won this game, not the vikings blowing it. and not justfor ap's fumble (which was actually caused by chicago), the bears just beat them
  18. WELL, WILLIAMS LOOKS LIKE A LEGIT LT
  19. granted, his methodology leaves something to be desired, someone likes the Bears: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9950260/Don't-go-to-sleep-on-the-Monsters-of-the-Midway?GT1=39002
  20. well, God knows in order to be a Packer fan you have to be high ha
  21. I will say I dont remember people actually throwing their glasses that are full of beer at a guy like Victorino but what ever. hell, I've seen it done in the Metrodome by Twin fans
  22. Someone in the crowd at Wrigley dumping a beer on a player or throwing something at them as that player is about to make or is making a play? Please list some of the "many, many" times this has happened. No list, but the beer dump is nothing new. yeah, mojo, it's not like we keep dates and times. i've been watching the cubs a long time and i've seen it happen a lot. oh hell, I'm pretty sure I've done it to some Cincy player. I tired, anyway, along with about 5 other people. dont know if my beer actually made contact
  23. Agreed it is the worst move in since brock. Letting Greg Maddux walk in his prime was peanuts compared to the awesome power of a 35 year old middle infielder in the final year of his deal who was coming off a career year. seriously? this has to be a joke
