    I'm sorry, how does this do anything except back up my point? You're willing to give him a pass on the issue of steroids prior to 2000 despite all of his credentials? What, was he just missing it everytime it was discussed or guys wer leaving the evidence sitting around their lockers or clubhouses? Was he just incompetent? Were PED's only being handled and used by a secret cabal of sports masterminds who kept it skillfully hidden from everyone else? I really don't see how listing the guy's credentials does anything to defend why he either completely missed the PED story for decades or willfully chose to ignore it or not pursue it. It's one of those three options. Which is it? Maybe we can give him a medal for whichever one it was since he did it so "well" for so long despite this being a gigantic open secret for decades. He's a sports columnist not a detective. Attacking Telander is really making you look silly. And Nuts & Gum superior credential are? credentials? what is this, checkpoint charlie? Telander is clearly out there stoking his ego. the entire damn column is sensationalism. really Telander? wow, thats profound.

    Tice was so/so as OL coach. I dont see this as a HUGE upgrade over anyone, really.

    god I wish we could win the SB to get 1/2 of those a-holes outta Chicago's spotlight. I guess that why Virginia likes Lovie so much. He's come the closest. of course, I would be more happy if someone bought Virginia out of power.

    I'm speechless that anyone would defend letting the clock run down like that. You have so little faith in Cutler to play a series of downs without throwing an INT? Really? Honestly? This same guy you just extended halfway through the next decade? He can't be trusted now to play one series of downs without turning the ball over? I'm not even close to being at that point yet. 45 seconds and 2 timeouts is plenty of time to get the ball to Robbie for a game winning field goal. If you stop Minnesota, it's game over anyway. But, you absolutely MUST protect the clock in the event they do score. Guaranteed possession with 45 seconds and 2 timeouts is way better than a 50/50 shot of losing the coin toss in OT. Especially with even more defenders out for the remainder of the game (Peanut/Idonije). my fear has more to do with RT then Cutler, although Cutler has hardly been stellar this year

    the only thing the bears were at risk of by not taking that time out was the Vikings going to the 2 pt conversion. if they miss that, they loose the game, if they kick the e pnt, the game goes to overtime. Besides, with Cutler's struggles in late and tight situations, so realistically the only chance the Bears really had at that point was a good kick return. And when was the last time RT called an excellent 2-min drill (which he would have had to going against a very good - albeit injured - D)? Rare to never. it makes perfect sense to let the game go to OT I had no problem with Lovie's non-call there. There are plenty of other likely reasons to call for his head, but that situation is overblown in those regards.

    This is how Lovie plays not to lose, instead of playing to win. His goal at all times is for the clock to run out before anything bad happens. They never try to keep time for their own potential drive, they never try to get one last score before half. It is a cowardly way of playing football. This is the style of football that minimizes coach criticism, because the media never questions it, but would question it if something bad actually happened. I don't know what the hell you people are talking about. on mn's last drive (and under 2:00 min to go) I count 3 incomplete passes, 3 to's called, 1 by Chicago. are you saying Lovie should have called 3 to's consecutively? I don't get your reasoning, it just wreaks of "Lovie sucks, lets pile on him!!!" it was a great game, both teams actually played very well. bitching over time use considering what each side did is moronic

    What is unclear? It's about how the win vs the Vikings may have changed perception about several things heading into the offseason. well, its 5 paragraphs long and doesn't shed any new light or thoughts on the situation. The title has to do with Lovie's job, and only the last paragraph actually mentions him. I don't understand who is your intended audience is (nsbb or the public at large) or what the subject really is. I was expecting to see a much better thought out discussion on how the emergence of Aroshamodu implicates Lovie's inability to judge talent (which I'm not sure is the case, especially if RT makes personnel decisions), or if it was to illustrate the new-found fountain of youth we may (or may not) have. All it really says is we have a couple of kids who did some nice things and Lovie's job security is more or less irrelevant in respect to the game. In total, all it really did was spur more convo here on the subject, so I'm wondering whats the point of the other site?

    Also helped that Ray Edwards has been absolute garbage for the last month. Really though the Bears completely made Allen and Kevin Williams non-factor's. Why am I still talking about this [expletive] game? brie perhaps?
