  1. did he give you any concrete reasons behind his "feeling" or did he leave it at that? I have a "feeling" too, but I think it has more to do with the 4 cups of coffee I've had this morn than any good analysis brb...
  2. lol hm Bernie, I wonder if the St Louis Dispatch looked into whether or not you abuse food before they hired you. oh, and LaRussa standing up for the Cubs. Nice gesture.
  3. no to a LB in the 1st if Jackson isnt available, I would love to see a value pick @ OT, S, or WR
  4. That's the problem with the best DEs in the draft. Orakpo, Brown and Maybin are all as likely to be 3-4 guys as 4-3 ends. absolutely, and I guess thats why I prefer Jackson (LSU) over English
  5. Larry English is a 3-4 DE/OLB in the making Holt wouldnt be too bad if 1) we had a #1 WR and 2) we got him cheeply
  6. Larry English would be a bad pick @18
  7. there were several studies like that, they so one every time they build up here.
  8. They're getting a new stadium too. I think its retractable roof. Those pansys can't stand playing outdoors in the winter. not necessarily. they have one in the works, tearing out the dome and replacing it, same site. but the MN state leg has to approve funding, and right now the state is running a HUGE deficit for 2010. its not a given in any way That was my understanding. My dad lives in Minnesota and is a Vikings season ticket holder. At least he says that a lot of people are ticked at how much public money was dumped on the Twins new stadium. Kind of like how St. Louis and Missouri got screwed royally on the dome the Rams play in. When the Cardinals built Busch Stadium III they "only" got minimal public money. That can easily be seen by how cheap the new Busch is when compared to other recent ballparks. It's his feeling that with the economy the Vikings are going to have to buck up most of the money if they want a new place. Either that or they'll be on the short list for a move to Los Angeles. well, I know they are working on drawings for the stadium, and some on the inside claim it will get passed. Pawlenty has to approve something for funding, or a whole lotta construction people are not going to be happy. they already built the 35w bridge with out of state contractors. idk tho.

  10. you mean like meph??? Carr would be fine for a back up
  11. it's really not a big deal. average temps in early april are around 50 for a high and 30 for a low, and by the end of the month the average high is up to 65. by that point of the year there's not much difference between the climate there and the climate in chicago, detroit or cleveland. they'll probably get a couple of "cold outs" or "snow outs" in a year, but i would guess that from beginning to end of the season, you'll get more rain outs in an open air stadium in, say, miami, boston or new york than you will in minneapolis. How's their late October? fantastic. and cold. so the f-what.
  12. Hmmph, that's being a bit abtuse. :P i suck at spelling
  13. I dont give a dman about the Twins, their organization, their payroll, or their ability to win. I just cant wait until I get to watch MLB baseball in my backyard that isnt in the dome. And your assertion on MN weather (and my supposed affiliation with the MPLS C of C) is absurd. edit: summers of 2006-2008 have been unbelieveably hot, actually. hardly mild.
  14. Gopher stadium is on campus, which isnt in that photo, but to the east of dt across the river
  15. many of you are also too young (or from a different part of the state) to know about the Fulton Unity Christian Knights yea, "beat F.U.C.K" was a great cheer....
  16. on the complete opposite of dt. the dome is on the south side of dt, the new stadium on the north: http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq332/cubsgeek/dtmpls-1.jpg the site is in the red box, and sits directly above a freeway, and across the street from the target center. to the left and right are parking garages, so while its completely built around, there are plenty of parking spaces. when I say its shoe-horned into the city, there literally is ZERO room fro the infrastructure needed for a retractable roof.
  17. I just read that, and its not too surprising although JA's comment on "M Brown restricted Daneal Manning's developemnt" is abit flaky. It was nice to see him call out VAsher.
  18. Pitt - Az
  19. why the hell would az take ogun and loose their back-up in the process?
  20. That could be hell in early April if its a long winter and will be hell in the summer when it's 90 degrees with 95 percent humidity. that would be quite the dewpoint. minneapolis isn't that bad in the summer. minneapolis has an average high of 83 in july; they only hit 90 five times in july 2008. it's also not that humid in the summer because they're so far from the biggest source of humid air (gulf of mexico). of course it can get humid and unpleasant outside but their worst days are pretty much like every day in miami and atlanta, and most of their games will be played at night anyway. i actually would guess that summer is probably quite pleasant in minnesota. summer is nice, hence the excitement for the open air stadium
  21. if they would have demanded a retractable roof, they would never have gotten the funding from the state, it was too expensive. they tried that first. And I agree with imb. baseball or football who cares
  22. I don't care. I'm from Morton so I have to mention my superiority to him. Plus I assumed it was me because the Cardinals stadium does suck. oic
  23. I guess I was referring more to that fact that after a long cold winter here, April is the month when EVERYONE wants to be outside, and no, its really not that cold either
