do you mean to suggest that the Boston fans are not as excited/engulfed/interested in who we sign for a GM as we are? NO WAY
  2. minnesotacubsfan
    who?
  3. minnesotacubsfan
    who?
  4. minnesotacubsfan
Is that what they really said? I thought it was "He's our GM, and until we receive a request from someone to interview him for a higher position, he will remain at that position." That doesnt feel the same to me.

I'm guessing there is a guy named Carl who lives in Missouri who is actually a Cardinal fan who comes here to promote train usage by using the reverse psychology method and posting under the avatar of "KyleJRM".

From all indications, Ricketts is prepared to offer Theo the moon to come here. Not only that, Henry said he would not grant permission to the Cubs if it were a lateral move. right, but I guess I missed the part where Boston actually gave Ricketts permission to talk to him.

My worry about no news is that they're working on a Theo extension in Boston. and why wouldn't they, Ricketts isn't offering anything better dear god we aren't going to get him are we
  8. minnesotacubsfan
that OR Ricketts only offered a GM role, which the Red Sox arent going to allow (and theo probably doenst want). so now Ricketts has to evaluate whether or not he's ok with Theo as Pres. this is my worry, and why there is no news.

it reminds me of Charles Moore's Piazza d'Italia in New Orleans. It was thought to be BRILLIANT by the art community but of course no one would go there, epic fail: http://www.hawaii.edu/lruby/art101/IMAGES/PIAZZA.GIF I WONDER WHY

That was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy later. it was, and Hendry was GM so he had more of a hand in it. BUT, Macphail still has the stink on him. I blame him as well.
  14. minnesotacubsfan
thats why I'm scared. he brought the DISEASE, Dusty Baker, to us.
  15. minnesotacubsfan
dont ever use that name again

What powers do you think he'll have as President that would be a problem? I think he fears that somebody else would be the guy performing GM duties. yes, exactly. But also, its my lack of knowledge as to what duties would be required as Pres, and if they sop up too much of his time, will he have to delegate GM responsibilities to someone of less ability.

this is actually what I fear, that Henry is saying to Chicago, go ahead, make him President. I don't know that I want Epstein as a President, I want him as a GM. I'm also wondering if Ricketts also only wants him to be the GM.

from a good fiend of mine, a White Sox fan in response to me asking him what he thought of the Ventura hiring: lol.
