We need a LHRP. I've been saying it for a while but Cotts showed some flashes at times, but he really pitches to RH better anyway and lately he sucks. Plesac said pretty much this teams only weakness.

Doubt that, if he shows another good start he will prob go to Iowa for 2 more, if they think he's back figure he is in the rotation with whatever pick-up they make. Thanks for the backing. However, I don't work at a Crab shack, drop off lobsters or wait tables. I said I was in PR. I don't deal with food only people. The only way Fukudome makes it to the 2 hole is the collapse of Theriot IMO. Lou seems to really like him in the 2 hole and Fukudome in the 5-6, its gonna take a lot to get him out of that niche. The longer it takes Theriot's return to his .350-.360 OBP norm the better. I actually think Theriot is doing a great job at 2. However, I could see him hitting 8 too.

Oh yeah, and if Edmonds continues to hit reasonably well, Lou will move Fukudome to the 2 hole. Which I think makes our line-up even better, no??

Also, i heard Chet Coppock mention Buster Olney claming the Cubs were becoming a "great" team. Anyone no where that cam from tv, blog, etc.?

Heard Saturday that Greg Maddux was the one who pointed out to Edmonds his stance change. He's been hitting ever since. If he continues to hit..wow. We have no serious weakness other than needing another starter (Hill?) and I'd like to see a nasty loogy. (Marte?) Also, what about Hoffpaiur? You can't send him down when Ward comes back can you?

That '84 club was really, really good; despite what happened in San Diego. I won't argue with you in hopes that you are right. I was just thinking today about whether this team is as good or better than '84. I think we need one more SP.

Guys, Lou said stated again on the pre-game radio show how much he likes Hoffpauir's bat. It would hurt us defensively, but I can see him getting alot of PT if Edmonds fails and moving Fuku to CF against RHP.

I think that idea will have traction. I think Lou would love an Ibanez in his line-up. Prefer a CF though becasue Fuku is so good in RF.

There may be another move in the offing as well. Outfielder Daryle Ward came up with a bad back Wednesday, and although Piniella said Ward wouldn't be placed on the disabled list "right now," he figures to go on it by the weekend. The Cubs will bring up left-handed hitter Micah Hoffpauir to replace Ward. The 28-year-old first baseman currently is playing in right field at Iowa in preparation for a call-up.

I'm not angry. It's just obvious they didn't need to call Hoffpair up when Edmonds fell into their laps. They stopped pursuing Byrd when Reed Johsnon fell into their laps too. I'm not trying to be mysterious either. I happen to be friendly with "people" and feel the stuff I put on this board is harmless, just like a reporter would. I'm suprised more people wouldn't be appreciative of the angles.
