  1. We need Bruce Miles to starting throwing out articles about how this "HFA" crap needs to go.
  2. My only thing is this..... Why is managers so gung-ho on only allowing the starting lineup to have 1 or 2 at-bats in the game? If I was manager, and I wanted to win this game, I much rather have the likes of Pujols/ARam/Utley/Ramirez/Berkman etc in the game for 3-4 atbats, over the likes of Hart/UgglyGuzman, etc, etc, having 4 or 5 at-bats.
  3. Maybe he wants to win. Too late now. Contrary to popular belief, the Bears are not as bad as some think. The Bears still have their Super Bowl caliber defense intact. If the Offense is even remotely average, the Bears should and could challenge for best in the NFC. Yeah, I said it..... Pardon my pessimism, but what makes you think the Bears have even a remotely average offense? The offensive line should make a couple strides, but all the skill position players are terrible or question marks First of all, I said "IF" they had an offense remotely average. Second, there is plenty of offensive talent on the Bears. The PROBLEM is, they are way.............underdeveloped (Grossman) or extremely raw( Bradley and Hester). And I know the Bears should not be hedging their bets on "serious ???", but it's not as if they players don't have the talent to succeed. So, I am still holding out hope that the Bears will have an average OFFENSE next yr.
  4. Absolutely not. It's unfair that the Cubs lost home field advantage (assuming they make it to the Series in the first place) because a Brewer couldn't throw out the runner at the plate. and dan uggla couldn't... well, do anything. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Uggla Wowser....I feel bad for hating on the guy.....
  5. I put D, because his overall leadership as president of baseball sucks. He was slow to the steroid issue. The "This game counts" fiasco after a TIE in an ASG. etc, etc. But his tenure hasn't been ALL bad. He did bring in four viable franchises. He got 2 WC introduced, to spike interests in teams that can't win the division, but still have playoff aspirations. Again, I put D, simply because he has had more misses then hits. Selig is the reason why baseball should not be run by a former owner of a franchise in this sport.
  6. Honestly who gives a crap how many people watched. The biggest joke in sports is the fact that the stupid ass all star game decides home field advantage for the World Series. Honestly, I cannot comprehend how [expletive] that is. My mind is honestly going to explode. I mean geez, if the N.L. team wins 100+ games in the regular season and sweeps its way to the World Series, it doesnt matter, the team in the A.L. that won 88 games as the wild card should have the home field? I probably completely missed the point of this comment, but still, Bud Selig is an idiot. And by probably, I mean definitely. And I am kinda drunk. But, none the less, Selig is an idiot. NFL: Hawaii. Just like playing sandlot football. NBA and NHL: Best record gets Home Court/Home Ice Advantage. MLB: ASG: it's like playing Game 163 in the middle of the season. The MLB is the only sports league in which there is something on the line. Which is stupid. For alot of guys in tonight's game, this is essentially Game 163 they will have played in.
  7. I think we all can agree that if ARam---and not Uggla---was up with the bases loaded and nobody out, ARam would have brought in AT LEAST 2 runs.
  8. I'm calling it now...........THE NL WILL WIN THE ASG next yr.
  9. yes they must be irate with his 1.13 ERA, 20 saves and 0 blown saves. Lidge of 2008=Gagne of 2005 (remember the AS Game was in The Cell)? 2003 Thank you. My point is...Gagne was hot as a closer, only to give up a game winning HR to Garrett Anderson, and will it's not a HR, Lidge, who is hot as closer, blows the game for the NL. Blalock. My bad, but my point is still there.
  10. Can we please start a "End this HFA goes to the winner of the ASG" petition and send it to Selig. Cause, teams with HFA in the World Series are 3-2 in the last 5 world series. And come someone PLEASE teach the NL hitters on how to hit late in games.
  11. yes they must be irate with his 1.13 ERA, 20 saves and 0 blown saves. Lidge of 2008=Gagne of 2005 (remember the AS Game was in The Cell)? 2003 Thank you. 13. So we have to beat the crap out of an AL team on their field to win the World Series. No biggie. Since the NL cannot beat the AL, can we please stop playing the ASG in the middle of the game, and let ALL of the players have a four day break.
  14. This Hurdle and Francona should engage in this.....to determine the winner of the ASG...
  15. If Francona pulls Kazmir before the conclusion of the game, I wonder what Selig decision will be? :-k
  16. why whats wsi? White Sox Interactive. White Sox fan web site, similar to NSBB.
  17. You know what, screw popularity, and screws a player ego. Uggla has been a liability since 8th inning or so. Take his butt out of the game. (if you can)
  18. You know the league with the HFA since it was introduced (2003) have gone 3-2 in the world series matchups. In other words...HFA is important, but not as important as one would think.
  19. NL COULD put McCann in at catcher, move Russell Martin to 3rd (he has play the position this yr) and move Guzman to 2B. Don't see it happening, but Hurdle could realistically make that decision.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks baseball should allow a "reenter the game" rule for All-Star game only? Meaning a position player (starter or backup) could be reenter the game, one more time? I know it sounds crazy, but so does HFA to be determined by the outcome of the ASG.
  21. Can't. McCann is the last POSITION player on the bench. Uggla is in at 2nd till the end of the game.
  22. Billy Wagner, Edinson Volquez, and Dan Uggla can go play in the Korean Pro League (aka Baseball hell) for all I care. At this point, I doubt we'll ever see the NL beat the AL.
  23. If the Bulls match, they automatically get him back? Any word on the length of the contract? I know I'm in the minority, but I hope the Bulls don't match that. I agreed to a degree. But if we don't match, then the Bulls will have to reupped Ben Gordon. And I know I am not the only one who wants that guy gone from Chicago. I wonder if the Clippers would do a SNT that involves Al Thornton coming back to the Bulls, along with other pieces, for Deng? I'd rather have Gordon back than Deng, which is one reason I hope the Bulls don't match that offer. That and Deng really isn't a $12 million a year player. While I agree that Deng isn't a $12 mill a yr player, he is more valuable to the Bulls then Gordon. I don't want Gordon back.
  24. Or we can just go with the best record. That sounds like a plan. But we know Selig doesn't like the "obvious" choice. HFA should be given to the team with the BEST RECORD, not because of some crappy exhibition game.
