  1. Now I wouldn't be opposed to adding Thabo in the deal.
  2. I'm not arguing against trading for Amar'e and/or trading both Noah and Thomas, what I am saying is I AM NOT THRILLED with Ruffin and Gray getting more minutes if this trade went down. Now if you can get Robin Lopez thrown into the deal (I know, I know, he isn't as good as his brother Brook) then I would be ok trading both Thomas and Noah (assuming Gooden is automatic in the deal).
  3. I am hesitant to giving up three bigs in the trade (Gooden/T2 and Noah) not because of sentimental reason, and player preference, but due to depth issues If the Bulls give up all three for Stoudemire, then the Bulls would be stuck with Noce/Gray and Ruffin as you're back up bigs. Even with Stoudemire that is still a average group of bigs, at best. So if you are going to give up three bigs in one deal for Stoudemire, you have to make another move for a decent big (Joe Smith from Oklahoma, perhaps).
  4. Same here. Two Cub killers on the same team.....NO THANK YOU. But alas I don't see Houston pony up enough money to make it worth it for one yr. Personally I think Dunnis waiting for Manny to sign, but the problem is Manny is having trouble drumming up interests considering his past.
  5. No kidding. I'd take a horrific Andruw over a less than mediocre Gathright any day of the weak. At least with Andruw there is a slight chance he might figure out how to hit a baseball again. Obviously I don't want Gathright on the Cubs, but considering the last two yrs of AJ, and NOOOO I wouldn't even offer him a minor league contract. Unless he proves otherwise, AJ is done.
  6. 3) Boozer is said to be opting out after the yr, and it's no secret that Boozer likes Miami and vice versa.
  7. Al Jefferson is all T'Wolves got. Everybody else was spare parts. Al Jefferson is a more valuable player at this point vs Garnett. The fact that Ainge and McHale are friends I'm sure helped facilliate the deal, but it was far from some lopsided exchange. Prolly, but maybe a handful of teams would take Jefferson over KG right now. KG still have alot of game left in his body. Thus, IMO, he's more valuable to a team like Boston then Jefferson is to Minnesota. With KG, Boston is a average team. With Jefferson, there's not that big of a drop off. i cannot figure out what the hell any of this is supposed to mean Bit distracted with my nephew. What I am saying is Jefferson is not more valuable then KG right now. In the next yr or so, yeah he will be more valuable, but right now no. Edit: I just notice what Jefferson is doing, and yes you can make a case that Jefferson is more valuable, but I still maintain there is more to being valuable then stats. And while Jefferson is arguably the better player now, he's prolly not as valuable just yet. Come back and ask that question at the end of the season.

  10. Well McHale did "take one for the team" when he gave KG to Boston.....maybe Kerr, Bulls? Yeah, I don't think so.
  11. Freakin Jason Kidd and his unlikely three pointer piece of ....
  12. Apparently to the Idiot Chad Ford, he believes Miami has offered up Marion and Beasley for Stat. There are a few things wrong with the scenerio, it's not even funny.
  13. Keiwone Malone.
  14. Can't complain too much about the schedule, because there was a couple of times in the first half of the season in which the Blackhawks had 3-5 days off between games. No use in complaining of schedule when it was favorable earlier in the season.
  15. Yes, it is Jake (sorry... late, late night for me!). I haven't heard about the Mormon mission- not even the first mention of it. Heaps and Simms appear to be early targets. You can bet that Kiffin and Co will try to get into the door with the top QB's in 2010. As expected both of those young men are going to be hotly contested for. But another couple of kids Tennessee should at and prolly will offer will be Terrance Broadway of LSU country and should be a 5 star QB and a top 10-15 player next yr. Another is Justin Maclin from Tenn. Now I don't expect to land Mac;in but I expect CNS to fight for him.
  16. I'm not saying he should be a deal breaker, I said I wouldn't trade him for Amare Stoudemire. While T2 isn't Amare offensively, the same can be said about Amare not being T2 defensively. In fact defensively, Amare is Eddy Curry esque. For a team that really can't play defense, I prefer not to trade the one guy who can actually defend, rebound, and block shots. Gimme a better option then Amare and I would approve (not that my approval means a thing) of moving Thomas.
  17. You're right LK isn't the only coach in the SEC talks trash, but other then UM, no other coach does it as publicly as LK. True. You know how to fire up a fanbase? Win ballgames. Trash talking other schools can only take you so far, IMO trash talking does one thing...fire up the OTHER team. It's one thing to trash talks teams like S. Carolina/Vanderbilt/Kentucky, but trash-talking teams that has no problems putting up 40 or so points on Tennessee (Florida, esp..) is never a good thing. Come on, saying "When we beat Florida, we'll be signing Rocky Top all into the night" (or something similar) when you have to play Florida in Gainesville, is never smart. It's more for the fan base than the players. And he hasn't had a chance to win a game yet, so he's got to do something. I'm not crazy about the trash talking and would probably prefer he not, but I think he'll tone it down some when/if we start winning some games. I'm not a fan of Al Davis, but he got the firing of Lane Kiffin right. Because name me on coach who would go for a 76 yard field goal? Look, Tennessee is a great program and great university, so they definately better then Kiffin. Gruden would look nice Tennessee right now, and the best part you could still have Monte Kiffin. When you've got Sebastian Janikowski? Why not try it. I'm not sure I'm that crazy about Gruden coaching college kids. His patience is crappy enough with NFL vets. Purely as far as coaching goes, I preferred Mike Leach, but Leach would not have put together this kind of staff. I'm willing to give Kiffin a shot. He worked wonders winning a game under Al Davis as it was. Fair enough. But Lane Kiffin isn't going to get Tennessee back to where they belong.
  18. Let me tell you, I was at the Bulls game here last Saturday and he was non-existent. I've never seen a less interested basketball player. I'd love him on the Bulls, but he has some major, major flaws in his game. No d and we still don't have a center. He also takes minutes from Tyrus. Chances are Thomas would have to go to PHX for Stoudemire. While Thomas may not be the offensive force Amare was and could be, but at least Thomas can rebound, block shots, and at times show a great ability to steal. And seeing Thomas starting to "get it" as a player, if the Bulls were to trade him, I much rather have Chris Bosh.

  20. Yeah, I like the jabs at Florida, but at some point he needs to stop. It's fun to hear, but ultimately, I think it could hurt us. With all due respect to Hosak and you, Dew, Tennessee deserves a better "coach" the Lane Kiffin. This kid, this joke of a coach has been so unprofessional since taking over at Tennessee, that it should be embarrassing Vols fans. I'm sorry dew, don't take this the wrong way, but I hope Alabama/UF/GA and LSU strings up Kiffin on the scoreboard. Lane Kiffin needs to learn some lessons about humility. And pissing off the powers of the SEC is NEVER a good thing for your career. Good fans like you and Hosak deserve a much better representation of the university then Lane Kiffin.
  21. What a way to end an amazing day for UCLA football. I don't know that UCLA has ever stolen 2 recruits from USC, let alone in the same year. All coming off a 4-8 season. Wow, didn't see that coming. Very good pickup for UCLA football.
  22. A little surprise, but given that fact that Moses wants to start as a freshman, even tho coaches from Bama/OSU and other major schools believe he is a major raw project, I'm not surprise who chose a school who is willing to let him developed. tOSU/Bama both pull away from Moses he wants to start, even then he isn't ready to start. Good pick up for Virginia.
  23. 27 recruits. When your rankings are comprised solely of total number of points, you can rank high even if you have almost exclusively 3 stars. Also how teams like S Carolina and UNC are top 10 or close. 29 commits. Do they even have enough room for all those players (Alabama signed more than they could take last year, as I recall). Bama signed I think 32 players. So many didn't actually end up going that ND was retroactively named the top class by the major services after the dust settled. I don't know why schools do that, but if they can get away with it... Schools do oversign because they kno there will be a few academic casualties and you still go after those players, plus players you know will make it to campus. This way in 2 yrs (provided they go JUCO or they don't go to a school with weaker academic standards) said school (let's say Alabama should be able to re-sign both Brandon Lewis and Devonta Bolton after the 2009 season) can bring those kids back after improving on their grades. It's perfectly legal as long as schools DO NOT HAVE more then 85 schloarship players on their roster. It is basically a quick way to accumlate depth for a school.
  24. Same here. But then again nobody saw Massie going to Ole Miss (if I remember I am going to PM you about why I am fuming over Massie).
