I think so, too, but I somehow just don't feel terribly confident in Z. -
I am very interested to see which Lou shows up in this one. The disgusted one who doesn't say much or the incredibly pissed off Lou.

What does everyone think that Piniella will have to say about this one? Does he blame the offense, Dempster?

I thought that Joe Torre had class, but this is showing a degree of classlessness with a 5 run lead in the 9th and the game won.

We had a lot of comebacks, but those certainly won't be as easy in the playoffs when managers won't stick with starters as long and will play a lot harder for each and every win no matter what the score is.

I didn't think it was going out, but then they showed nothing but black sky and it looked like it would bounce off of the scoreboard, but i guess not.

NO reason to show them Marmol when we're trailing. The starter didn't go deep so this is what you get. I know that's the strategy, but it is like waving a white flag. Noit's really not. There is no reason to bring Marmol into this game. Well, I believe that you should put yourself in the best position to win the game and Marmol is the guy that does that. So you think Marmol should be used in every game of the playoffs? You can't do that. I do in one as important as this. I know that they are all important in the playoffs, but even if it is in a situation where the series is 2-1 or 1-0 for the Cubs, I wouldn't.

Look at what the bullpen is doing and you will understand why Lou left in Dempster. You are right, Marshall was really bad....

It took me a while to figure it out, but Lou obviously left Dempster out there so long because he wanted to get out of the extension?

Well, Fukudome did patiently look at a few balls and then after they were called strikes, it changes the at bat to the point that he cannot be totally blamed for that strikeout.

The thing is that you can afford to lose the first one when you are on the road. There, if you split the first two, you gain home field advantage in the series. Here, nope.

I think that you can with a short leash. Zambrano (I know, how much better will he be) will be available out of the pen and Dempster will have to pitch in the games that would come after that one. And as I type this, Ramirez with the most ridiculous looking home run of all time.
