  1. You mean in Castro's picture? It's Castro, Lake, Strop, and Soler.
  2. I'm kinda thinking Alcantara won't be here by the trade deadline.
  3. WHATEVAH. Touché
  4. Couldn't they conceivably just bring him up for LF and still have him do catching drills during off time and have Montero and Ross give him tutelage in the process while spot starting him once a week there for in game experience?
  5. That picture makes me think Ventura is about to have just the most delightful little afternoon.
  6. It's sea cow you plebe
  7. Ugh, these radio guys look like herpes got a bad case of gonorrhea
  8. But it was a horse [expletive] ball 3 call, too, so.
  9. What a horse [expletive] strike one call. http://i.imgur.com/CEiaREa.jpg
  10. If we lose out to the Pirates for a playoff spot, I will take the blame. I traded McCutchen basically right before May 5 because every fantasy analyst was panicking about how his swing was different, his LD% was microscopic and there was little reason to believe it would get better unless he went on the DL. Apparently all he needed was to not be on my team. We are all victims of the fantasy curse in one way or another. The Pirates being good is also helped by the fact that Starling Marte has become a sleeper MVP candidate. Since the 2nd half of last year, Marte has been tremendous and transformed himself into a power hitter to go along with his speed and defense. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/starling-marte-pittsburgh-pirates-2015-projection-013015 Since the 2nd half of last year, here's Marte's line... 98 G 18 HR 57 RBI .314/.370/.542/.912 He only had 22 career home runs in the previous 265 games before the 2nd half of last year. He's close to matching that number through less than one full season since. Marte becoming this good and McCutchen regaining form is gonna make the Pirates very hard to beat.
  11. How the [expletive] did he hit that out that thing was below the knees.
  12. It's crazy how much the Pirates have lived and died with the performance of Andrew McCutchen. Through May 5th, McCutchen was hitting .185/.280/.293/.574 and to that point the Pirates record was 12-14. Since then they've gone 13-7 and McCutchen's line has been .377/.462/.688/1.150. They've won 7 straight games. During that stretch, McCutchen's line is .462/.533/.885/1.418
  13. Oh [expletive] is today olive day? Muffaletta time...
  14. You guys. MLB.tv just updated their video player and it's [expletive] awesome. When the game is not in full screen mode, it gives you the linescore up top with the pitcher/batter numbers above it. Below the game is the entire box score information and then a highlight list below that of highlights from the game and then below that it has a fantasy tracker for players on your fantasy team. Full screen mode now allows you to have a linescore built in to the bottom as well as a live pitch fx tracker. Here's a screen of the full screen mode.. I took a screen of the full page, but it messed up because also, when you browse below the video of the game, a sticky bar posts to the top of the page with a smaller window of the game, so if you browse below to look at the box score you can keep watching the game. It screwed up my full page screen capture, but here it is anyways (it's not gonna look right, but you'll get the idea): http://i.imgur.com/HKMPpi5.png Seriously, it's the [expletive]. If you have it go open up the O's/Astros game and check it out. It's sooooo much better.
  15. Is there a way to make Tapatalk read only? It's still way more convenient and quicker to read the forum than the Mobile version, but even I'll concede the quoting thing is annoying.
  16. I never knew the small button did that before on the old forum, I just thought it was an icon that represented a new post was made. I always just clicked on the last page and picked up where I left off. But I kinda figured out the big icon worked the moment the software switched over, it's much better.
  17. Unless Bryant or Schwarber are ticketed for LF, we don't have an option there. This will all depend on what they decide to do with Baez. If Baez rights the ship and they decide to keep him, Bryant probably moves to LF. If Baez (or Castro for that matter) is traded then we probably stick with Coghlan until McKinney is ready which, if he keeps up his performance, will probably be some time in the middle of 2016.
  18. Hit tracker claims it's true distance was 463 feet...
  19. That is weird. Shouldn't it be scorer's discretion, and shouldn't the scorer think that the runner is scoring from first with two outs every time? Span probably would not have been playing as far in as he was if the runner was at first and would have had a better chance to make the catch. Yeah, they even mentioned it on the broadcast. If Desmond doesn't make the throwing error the runner doesn't advance to second. If the runner doesn't advance to second, the defense would be playing Russell for no doubles, and that hit would've been caught or at least cut off quickly enough to prevent the runner from scoring from first. The Desmond error kinda cost them the game, so...
  20. Why in the everloving [expletive] would we even need a guy like Wladimir Balentien next year?
  21. I can only imagine the kind of bi-polar lunatic gold spewing from the beak of Hawk Harrelson all throughout that game. I was watching the Toronto broadcast and switched over to the White Sox after the Reyes double to see if I would only hear silence, but alas, Hawk was not apart of this broadcast.
  22. The wind was blowing straight out. If it didn't get out tonight, it's not getting out any other night. yeah i couldn't figure out what that was about I wasn't watching too closely but I thought I heard the announcers say the wind was blowing in. My bad you suck Jorge It shifted throughout the game. At one point later in the game (maybe an inning before Soler) it was blowing in pretty hard judging from the flags in center.
