  1. You realize you're calling him overrated because he had two consecutive bad starts to begin this month, right? And in those two starts the combined BABIP was .485? Did you think he was overrated when he put up a 1.76 ERA for the month of May?
  2. This is like waking up Christmas morning and finding out your parents really did get you that Power Wheel you always wanted.
  3. he is, however, right that arrieta is our best pitcher and i fully expected that going into the season One could argue that Jason Hammel qualifies for that title... Arrieta 6-4 3.16 ERA 77.0 IP 83 K 15 BB 122 ERA+ 1.117 WHIP 2.79 FIP 1.2 rWAR 2.0 fWAR Hammel 5-2 2.81 ERA 80.0 IP 80 K 12 BB 136 ERA+ 0.963 WHIP 3.17 FIP 1.6 rWAR 1.5 fWAR
  4. What exactly is your definition of someone who is a strikeout pitcher? Someone who has more K's than IP? Lester has 5 fewer K's than he does IP and is at 8.4 K/9. There's only 39 pitchers in MLB (22 in the NL) with a K/9 above 8.0. Lester is one of them. He is a strikeout guy.
  5. I don't think he can hear you
  6. ESPN lists starters to stay the same. Do we keep using this game thread, just change the date?
  7. 11 games ago the Blue Jays were 23-30. They are now 34-30 after winning 11 consecutive games.
  8. Well, so much for my hopes of a game thread winning streak
  9. Drop Jay Bruce Add Mark Teixeira That's my last first half transaction Also, are you not posting the best possible team roster this year? I know you said you were going to avoid doing it at the start of the year because of small sample sizes.
  10. Why would we upgrade from Hendricks to Price? Getting Price still has room for Hendricks at #5. Unless the Cubs also trade for Cole Hamels or someone else, there's no reason to think that getting Price leaves Hendricks out of the rotation. EDIT: TT beat me to it
  11. Well this season is over, time to sell off the assets.
  12. http://www.bleachernation.com/2015/06/10/cubs-have-reportedly-had-trade-talks-with-phillies-about-closer-jonathan-papelbon/
  13. Randal Grichuk to the rescue
  14. I've been a vocal opponent to signing Soriano if the money was too much, but this deal is perfectly acceptable.
  15. If it's one player, they have to waive a NTC, and it won't involve top tier Cubs prospects... it's gotta be Papelbon, right?
  16. Haven't paid attention to the draft class at all. Reading up on Happ he sounds pretty good. Why is Aiken projected to go so late? Did he take a big step back this past year?

  18. In my keeper league I made a big trade before the beginning of 2014 and I gave up Profar, Bauer, Skaggs, and Castellanos in exchange for Max Scherzer and David Price. I still have Price and Scherzer, and I drafted Skaggs and stashed him on my DL this season after he was dropped. Think it's safe to say I won that trade.
