  1. What in the F is that supposed to mean? Is he trying to say he can't pitch if they make it to the playoffs?
  2. The Cubs didn't renew his contract and didn't offer him arbitration. They let him go. Keeping Mark Grace wouldn't have brought us a championship and it didn't bring the Diamondbacks a championship, get over yourselves. Hate the guy for what he does in the booth, not for what he did on the field
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=3611226&campaign=rss&source=MLBHeadlines Always a fun read, whether you like Stark or not. These are awesome, too.
  4. Isn't Ichiro kind of a primadonna who acts like his s*** don't stink? I assumed they were ticked at him because of his attitude
  5. :-)) Talk about bad luck
  6. It wasn't my first game, but the first game that I can actually remember was Cubs vs. Dodgers and it was a slugfest, like 8 home runs were hit. Piazza hit two, I think. Sosa hit one. I don't really remember all the gory details except that it was home run derby. Oh, and the Cubs lost, naturally
  7. This is too ridiculous. More Rotoworld hilarity...
  8. I don't know what's funnier, the fact that Keith Law also clearly loathes the "scrappy" moniker placed on ball players or the fact that they both referred to the Baseball Writers Association of America as the Baseball Righters Association of America
  9. They will probably say yes as they hand the MVP award to Evan Longoria and give Jason Bartlett a pretty blue ribbon
  10. Did Greinke piss anyone on the Royals off this year like he did last year, or did his meds keep him in check?
  11. You trying to tell me Jesus can't hit a curveball?
  12. Please let it be me Fantasy Baseball didn't go over too well for me this year
  13. That qualify for the leaderboard in fielding statistics
  14. Agreed on Manny. I think he should scratch the Top 5 easily. He's been unreal since coming over. I thought his production was a gonna fall off a cliff moving to Dodger Stadium, too. He's silenced a lot of critics. Not deserving of the award, obviously, but definitely deserving of consideration.
  15. That is stupid. They talk about his great defense... Jason Bartlett rates among qualified SS in the AL... 7th out of 8 in the AL in fielding % (.969) 6th out of 8 in the AL in range factor (4.22) 4th out of 8 in the AL in Zone Rating (.825) 3rd most out of 8 in the AL in errors (16) 8th in the AL in assists (299) 8th in the AL in DP (67) 5th in the AL in put outs (199) There's really nothing about his defense that should warrant a guy who had an 86 OPS+ offensively the MVP of a team when Evan Longoria played arguably the best fielding 3B defense in the majors, and who also has a 132 OPS+. Tampa Bay Baseball writers are morons for this pick, not that it matters. I know it's a useless, meaningless award given out by idiots, but still. Jason Bartlett? They're smoking crack.
  16. He also leads the league in errors. This is true. Baseball Tonight said something about how he could be the first player to lead the league in both errors and strikeouts since some dude I don't remember did it back in the 50's or 60's. I think they mentioned though that the guy who did it back then also won the MVP that year, ironically
  17. I had no idea Mark Reynolds had that many
  18. Jay Bruce has struck out 101 times in 389 AB already. Was he as big a whiffer in the minors?
  19. If you couldn't figure out the fall classic reasoning, then you need to make like a tree and get outta here.
  20. If all they're worried about is the clubhouse facilities, then that doesn't mean they need a new stadium. Remodel the clubhouse if they absolutely want to, but never get rid of Wrigley. Besides, who gives a crap about what Edmonds and Marquis think. I'm sure if Cuban ends up winning the Cubs bidding war, he'll make the clubhouse much more lavish
  21. i agree with you 100%, but on the other hand, me and my girlfriend probably reference your "ATTA BOY JIMMAY, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" call at least 5 times a week. i know you were honoring brickhouse, but that call is probably my favorite call in cubs history. That was fantastic, but the Aramis walk-off against the Brewers last year is gonna go down in Cubs lore with his voice over the highlight, and every time I hear/see it I get goosebumps. Good having you on here, Len. Thanks for being such an awesome dude. Oh, and you get triple cool points for liking Superdrag.
  22. Thanks for the kind words, n00b  Seriously though, thanks for stopping by! You rock
  23. Wow. Just... Wow. Now I want to see this tattoo
  24. which is more fun? Fatality. Haven't you played Mortal Kombat?
