  1. He was bad ass after his recall last year. Got off to a bit of a slow start this year, but he's really tapping into that potential. One of my favorite players right now.
  2. They always comp based on mechanics and who they look like the most. It's kind of sloppy. That's great, he has a similar swing to Ryan Braun. Charlie Morton changed his mechanics to mimic Roy Halladay and he's not exactly setting the world on fire
  3. That was a very good expose. I'd prefer Correa if he's there, but I would not be upset if we wound up with Almora.
  4. They're at commercial break right now, but they're gonna do a spotlight on Almora after the break
  5. Watching the draft coverage now, just did a little expose and interview with Buxton. Seems like one hell of a talent, but man... he's not much for words.
  6. The cheap seats (see: back rows, upper deck, furthest from the field sections) are selling for $45 on stub hub, if that's any indication. Not sure what the face value is for the tickets.
  7. Damn, I was planning on going to one of those games in the bleachers... Cheapest on StubHub is $109... $100+ for bleacher seats? Ugh.
  8. FWIW, Harper has a lower K rate, higher BB rate, and Trout is benefiting from a somewhat high .356 BABIP. And Harper doesn't turn 20 until after this season. Both are awesome, though. i think trout has always had a high babip in the minors, though, and given that he's blazing fast and hits a lot of line drive, .356 doesn't seem too crazy. maybe a little high, but i'd expect him to be a high babip guy. Good hitters generally have high BABIP's, though. Trout's could very well be a byproduct of just being a damn good hitter.
  9. Mike Minor isn't anywhere close to reaching his potential. He'd be a good buy low candidate, IMO. I like Minor, despite his struggles, if he puts it together he could be a very good pitcher. And really, what are you expecting in terms of MLB talent for a half year rental of a 35 year old pitcher? A guy that hasn't been horrific in a full season's worth of ML starts. Yeah and at the ages of 23 and 24 180 innings is a good indicator to pass on a guy who, just last year, was a top MLB pitching prospect. Good logic there. Let's pass on the big potential of a young, under-control-for-several-more-years pitcher with a good pedigree because he hasn't cut the mustard in parts of two seasons. This player, over the course of two partial seasons totaling a full seasons worth of starts (more or less), at the age of 23 and 24, put up this line... 6.09ERA 29GS 9W-10L 173IP 140K 79ERA+ 10.6H/9 3.5BB/9 7.3K/9 He was a top prospect in baseball before his age 23 season. Would you trade Dempster for that if you knew it was Roy Halladay?
  10. have you looked at this peripherals this year? i don't know if he can continue to keep walks so low, but he is pretty much off the charts, kemosabe ftfy

  12. Chisenhall AND Hagadone for LaHair? I think that's a bit of a stretch there. I like the other two, but I don't see the Dempster one being possible. I think Minor still holds a lot of value in that organization, especially since their elite pitching depth isn't looking so elite due to injuries and regression.

  16. I think people are doubting the veracity of the report moreso than Theo for possibly considering trading him. Then I'm with them. Nightengale is a turd.
  17. I like how the other day Theo says something along the lines of "I believe that no one player should ever be untouchable. I don't think untouchables should exist". And now this dork attaches two names that appears to be speculation, yet fit within the confines of Theo's original blanket statement, and people are getting furious? I need more fingers to count all the times people have said around here that "No one should be untouchable" but now that someone speculates Castro is available it's lynchin' time. P.S. I don't want Castro traded, just observing.
  18. DADGUM RIGHT THIS GAME'S GONNA BE PLAYED UNDER PROTEST!
