  1. well I don't remember exactly, some sort of premenstrual thing in his arm A tricep cramp is probably nothing, and even Garza said it was weird but he'd be okay, and all the x-rays came back negative. You're acting like if he doesn't make ONE good start then no one will want to trade for one and a half years of his services. I think that's a little over the top. Teams can still trade for him based on his credentials and his performance history, and if there's an issue with his health, that's what physicals are for. I just don't see how there is a 0% chance we could trade Garza UNLESS he makes his next start and is healthy. If he were a half season rental I could see the concern, but teams would get him for one more year and are able to obtain a draft pick as compensation if they let him leave. I don't see how that doesn't still have value to teams.
  2. Also this was posted on Roto a couple hours ago, but didn't see it in the thread (may not have gone back far enough)
  3. 0% if Garza doesn't come back strong very soon. I'm wondering with the amount of teams looking for higher end pitching, if MAYBE someone gets desperate enough to trade for him even if he doesn't pitch Monday. The only top end starters that appear to be out there are Greinke, Johnson, and Shields. Other starters supposedly available are Liriano and Vargas. I guess there's a chance Ian Kennedy or Cliff Lee become available, but that's about it. Plus, our 3 guys. Meanwhile, teams looking for high end pitching are the Blue Jays, Orioles, Red Sox, White Sox, Indians, Angels, Rangers, Braves, Nats, Cards, and Dodgers. I guess I could see a team getting antsy and throwing out a good offer on Garza. Sure you could make such a desperate move, if you are only giving up fringe guys. But top prospects for a guy having an off year who is suffering from forearm cramps? I can't see it. Forearm cramps? His current setback at the moment is tricep cramps, is it not?
  4. What are the possibilities of getting the best return we can for Dempster from L.A. and then trying to flip Garza to the Braves instead for a better return from them?
  5. She probably went around bragging about being the mother of Cal Ripken and the wrong people heard her. Now if she started bragging about being the mother of Billy Ripken she wouldn't have this problem, would she?
  6. So he's untouchable then. "No one" being the media, not the Marlins. If they're not averse to making him untouchable, then they're willing to make him untouchable. Yeah I know, I just caught that. You know all know what I mean
  7. I don't know if you're kidding, but Stanton makes 500k a year. They're not selling him. In fact, I'm not sure there's more than a couple of players who would be harder to acquire. And yes, Loria is an awful human. When it was first reported that the Marlins could be sellers, Stanton was highlighted as someone they would listen in on for offers. No one expected him to be moved, but they are apparently not averse to making him untouchable.
  8. So... what would we conceivably have to give up for Giancarlo Stanton? Also, Jeff Loria should be murdered for justifiably being a seaward
  9. 40 speed, 80 range. This is a real thing. Did his speed really grade out at a 40? That seems impossible just by taking a look at him, he seems like he's swifty
  10. Loria probably takes out life insurance policies on all his players, so... push?
  11. I WANT TO PUNCH EVERY PERSON IN THE FACE WHO HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO THESE AZL GAMES YET DON'T
  12. If they don't retain Sanchez and don't make the playoffs (or go far in them), then they traded Turner for Omar Infante. It becomes a good deal if they can extend Sanchez, or make it to he series due to his contributions. Infante is meh.
  13. Woah. Never thought I'd see Ichiro wear another uniform.
  14. I BET THE TIGERS FEEL STUPID FOR TRADING INFANTE TO US FOR JACQUE JONES NOW
  15. My buddy on Facebook... "You can have him. The kid has a lot of promise but he never did pan out for us.. Might just need a change of scenery" I made it a point to let him know he's only 22 and has half a year of big league experience under his belt while most pitchers his age are in AA. Really, though? "He never did pan out for us"? He's been in your rotation for 24 starts between the ages of 21 and 22 and "He never really panned out"?
  16. But Barry ain't da Yankees hit leadah, brainiahck. JEEETAHHHHH
  17. ESPN fluff piece... http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8174177/mark-prior-transformed-pitcher-pawtucket-red-sox
