  1. I'm all about a Stanton trade (obviously), but I would rather they move Russell. Then again, that's been my MO since the Russell trade, but given recent performances of all our guys and them showcasing their potential, I would be perfectly fine if they didn't trade for Stanton and kept our best guys instead. And as much as I want Stanton, I only want him if an extension is agreed to prior to the trade. If he insists on testing FA, then don't trade for him and just [try to] sign him when he hits the market the following offseason. But this team's future with or without Stanton is still going to be ridiculous. If they sign Rusney Castillo I could see them using Alcantara as a headliner in an attempt to nab him without giving up one of the big 4.
  2. That's been my assumption, but if/when Russell shows up to force a move on one (or some) of them, I was always under the impression that Baez's would move to 3B because his arm was ridiculously strong, which is why many people after he was drafted assumed he would eventually move off SS for 3B. Thought there were questions about his SS glove work, but not about his arm. Does he have bad arm accuracy? I'm not complaining either way, I was just curious why people pencil Castro in as a future 3B instead of 2B. I don't care where any of them play as long as they play adequate defense and hit the way they're capable of
  3. We'll set the floor of number of pitches thrown by an opposing pitcher each inning at 20 :)
  4. Worth noting that in my CBS Fantasy league this is what a pop up player profile looks like normally: This is what Javy's looks like:
  5. Why do people envision Starlin moving to 3B instead of Baez? Doesn't Baez have a better arm?
  6. Bingo :good: Copy that
  7. Okay, but why is it used in conjunction with certain Cubs events? I still don't know what exactly is supposed to be happening or why it relates to the Cubs. Or maybe I'm overthinking it and it's just supposed to be one person having a blast and the other being miserable?
  8. I renewed mlb.tv for the rest of the season. Javy and Alcantara now. Soler in a month (and probably/maybe Bryant, too). Worth it. How much was that? $50 for the premium so I can watch it on multiple devices. The monthly rate and the rest of the year rate is the same monthly cost. $24.99 for monthly or $49.99 for rest of the year. Only two months left, so they're not really trying to do any crazy deals it seems. Heh. I actually spent a penny more by renewing for the rest of the season. I'm ruined. Though I imagine that comes with the handful of October regular season games.
  9. Okay, I've seen an iteration of this posted multiple times, but I don't understand the reference. Can someone explain what this is from? And what exactly is going on?
  10. These are awesome. Please don't stop writing them.

  14. I think when they're all up and everything clicks (fingers crossed) they'll realize they are all a part of something extremely special and are trying to do something which hasn't been done in over a century, and they'll love every [expletive] minute of it. I think because of this they'll be open to signing long term deals. They'll all be comning up through the same system together striving to win the World Series. How many World Series teams have had an abundance of players on their roster that came up through the ranks at the same time to reach the highest stage? If that happens, that would have to feel pretty [expletive] awesome for them, and I think they won't want to play anywhere else, at least not for a long time. But that's just my own daydream speculation.
  15. Probably. Seemed like it was one of the last hurrahs of super meatbally given awards. "This guy had the highest batting average, therefore he is the best rookie" even though, if you want to break it down by rWAR, Happ was better. Actually Garret Jones was the best position player on that list for the year in rWAR. McCutchen was the best over on FG. And pitching wise on FG, Randy Wells was the best. McCutchen had 3.3 fWAR, Wells had 3.1. Happ had 1.5 (Hanson 2.5) while Coghlan had 2.5 (Jones [and Seth Smith] 2.7)
  16. [expletive] AWESOME MOVE, LOGAN

  18. Nobody in Alabama hates the Nationals.
  19. But I like Stanton more than Russell. Trade him.
  20. I like Russell at SS. And Castro at 2B. And Baez at 3B. And Bryant in LF.
  21. It's rWAR you lummox. Get it right!
  22. At the airport. No witty pictures or stats. Just this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnVrSZHnvYY
