  1. Casual taunting from the Reinsdorf's White Sox about the Bulls? Or something like that. Chicago Bulls' Miserable Offseason Summed Up In One Deleted Tweet From White Sox Account
  2. [expletive] Stop equating Dempster and Garza being on the team. Garza is a good [expletive] pitcher, is young, and is signed next year. He'll look great on a 75 win team.
  3. Brett just re-posted this on Twitter. Interesting to read Dempster's comments from last month knowing what has happened this week. I find it tough to believe that the Cubs FO would work out a trade with Atlanta without having some idea that Dempster would go there. http://www.bleachernation.com/2012/06/07/ryan-dempster-makes-it-pretty-clear-he-wont-stand-in-the-way-of-a-trade/
  4. This is his #1 destination. We should probably kill him just to be sure. You hold on to Dempster because a draft pick or Dempster at 12.5M is a better deal we'd get in return for him. Dempster at 12.5M next year has to be the worst case scenario. The team probably isn't going to be very good and he won't have as much value in a trade next summer. It'd just be a big, fat waste of an asset. Why would he not have as much trade value? Because his numbers almost certainly won't be as good as this year, and he'll be a year older.

  6. So Dempster is mad at the media for doing their job? And to get back at them he's going to spite the Cubs organization? That seems misplaced.
  7. He apparently wants to pitch for one at 35, so I don't think it'd be that different.
  8. You HONESTLY think that one of those guys would be the difference between the Braves giving up Delgado and not? Minor league filler?
  9. I'm more out of the loop here but what's the big appeal with Lee? His numbers haven't been that great since being drafted. I'm sure there's more to it.
  10. It's OK to reach for the stars as long as you grab and asteroid or two on the way down when you miss. You know there isn't some law that requires you to respond to every thought thrown out on this messageboard, right?
  11. I think they're probably waiting until the last minute for the best offer. If he starts tonight, that's one fewer start he can make for whoever gets him. I suppose that could actually decrease his value, but maybe they're hoping some team will boost their offer to get it done.
  12. It's like they haven't even seen the last three All-Star Games.
  13. You'd have to add an actual high-quality piece to the trade. They're not going to accept quantity over quality.
  14. "listen, theo, we're ready to do what it takes to get this thing done today, we'll offer what it takes, just hear us out" "w/e bro, i have to go throw batting practice, try and catch me on an off day" So much for the off day theory. Looks like their next off day isn't until next Thursday, so we'll just have to wait until then for a possible trade. I hate this waiting around!
  15. Thought it would be a lot worse. That's a great, fair deal.
  16. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Vogelbach. It's pretty clear that he can hit, but what do the Cubs do if he keeps destroying each level? Trade bait? Super pinch hitter? World's fattest second baseman?
  17. He was pretty solid back in 2008 so I think it'll work out well.
  18. There it is.
  19. He was in Law's Bottom 50 list.
