  1. After last night, probably the top 5.
  2. He stole a base almost 50% of the time he reached based. He also scored approximately half of the time that he reached base. Pretty amazing numbers. That's pretty crazy...an 84% success rate at an incredibly high volume. Very impressive.
  3. Those ads use cookies to be related whatever sites you frequently visit. So...
  4. Dumb report. Why would they bother bidding if they didn't think they might win? Did Theo think that maybe he could bid $5 million and all of the other teams might forget to submit anything? I think Cafardo is the guy who said the other day that the Cubs aren't players for Fielder either. Sounds more like he has an agenda.
  5. Fielder's career minor league OPS was .921 against Alonso's .837. Fielder was also about 2-3 years younger than Alonso at each level. They're not remotely comparable.
  6. Disagree. It's a low-risk, low-reward trade that, in the most likely scenario, has us losing extra games in 2012 because we are running out a terrible third baseman who is going to get $1.5 to $2.5 million more than he is worth. Best case scenario Stewart bats .300/.450/.550 with 40 home runs. Worst case scenario he bats .125/.200/.275 and runs over Starlin Castro with his car. Even the most notorious media douches as meh at worst on this trade. I think Kyles the only person out there who has an actual problem with it. Kyle would probably tell you he'd aim for Starlin but miss. Kyle doesn't like Castro either, so he probably wouldn't even care.
  7. Interesting, but not that surprising I guess. Loosely related, has anyone ever looked to see if there's a correlation between velocity and injury? I know some people theorize about higher velocity putting more stress on the arm, but didn't know if anything had ever been examined.
  8. Glad you're having fun. But I'm pretty sure no one else is.
  9. I still think the Cubs are the most likely landing spot for him.
  10. Makes sense to me, now that Pujols is off the market.
  11. It really varies too much between different types of players to be useful to generalize, but player peaks are much younger than most people realize. 27-32 is far too old. This. Wrong. Dusty Baker said that Roger Craig said that players peak at 32-34.
  12. Holy _______. If we could trade for Hanley and add Pujols or Fielder.... (Hanley might come a little cheaper coming off a down year) What would a realistic package look like to send for Hanley? Garza, Jackson, more stuff.
  13. If a chronic gambler triples his paycheck at the craps table a few times in a row, it doesn't mean it was a good bet. Means he probably had a great time though.
  14. A 10 year contract for almost any player is insane.
  15. http://www.bleachernation.com/2011/12/06/report-chicago-cubs-have-made-an-offer-to-albert-pujols/ LIKE I'LL TRUST ANYTHING FROM BLEACHER REPORT
  16. Agree. Santo said he didn't want to be inducted after he died yet that's exactly what they did. Eff those guys.
  17. BPA from Abilene-Christian, I think.
  18. Carroll also reports for the 874th time that he has a firm grasp on Jenn Sterger's phone number.
  19. Don't be a Seahawks fan.
  20. http://www.bleachernation.com/2011/11/30/the-cubs-saw-no-risk-in-offering-arbitration-to-carlos-pena-and-other-bullets/ I know we all keep saying this, but it's worth repeating: It's nice to not have Jim Hendry representing the Cubs front office anymore.
  21. He'll be stuck in China for the next 6 months. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski_china_nba_players_112811
  22. [expletive] about to start getting really real. Pujols is 4 1/2 years older than Prince. C'mon Rosenthal.
  23. Re-branding is always a challenge, but it would be worth it in the long run. You have a great site with lots of good content and visitor interaction. Those people aren't going to go anywhere because of a name change. You might have a few short-term hiccups with SEO and similar things, but that can be remedied with a little planning. It's no one's fault that people confuse you with Bleacher Report, it's just reality. I'd want to separate myself from that, especially if I had a blog like yours with some reliable sources and a chance to report viable rumors and break stories. Just my two cents.
