  1. I can see it now... We hold the Lions to a FG, but then Jay can't get down the field fast enough and the clock expires as they try to get the last snap off
  2. Saved by Ryne Byrd or whoever Not that I want to defend Purdue, because seriously, it's Northern Kentucky, but wasn't Hammons suspended for this one?
  3. How about Theo just announces Lovullo as manager tomorrow without an interview? kidding of course, but what a load of junk that they're not being allowed to interview him.
  4. great play by Wootton... and another from Shea! huge win tonight!
  5. Only guess is Carter-Williams was this new FO's first round pick this year, Wroten was part of the old regime. So obviously they like CW and they know they are going to be awful (regardless of what happened last night) so they probably want to see what "their guy" can do given a bigger role. Also, Wroten played 23 min, so it's not like he's wasting at the end of the bench. pretty sure Wroten was acquired by trade... and also that Snayke was being sarcastic about their tanking
  6. I think these blurbs at the top of each of his categories (college hitter, college pitcher, HS hitter, HS pitcher) are nice to see he his thought process in how he rates the 4 types and the quality of the prospects in each category: Crawford appears to be lower on the HS pitching crop than others I've read. He rates the 4 categories from top to bottom this way: 1) college pitchers, 2) HS hitters, 3) HS pitchers, 4) college hitters. I guess the college pitchers being rated that strong is a good thign for the Cubs. If they can manage to get some more quality arms that can move quickly that would be great.
  7. I know that Peanut is getting old, but do we think he could drop back to safety? I know someone mentioned it a page or two ago... No, he's not a Charles Woodson level corner, but he's darn good and always seems to be in the right place, just that his body is breaking down a bit. Would that help squeeze a couple more years out of him?
  8. Say Cutler is indeed out for the season and the Bears finish with around the 10th pick... Do you see if you can get a guy like Sammy Watkins out of Clemson to play in the slot or do you go after some young guys on D?
  9. not to mention what looks like illegal hands to the face right by the LOS edit: though looking closely it is hard to tell whether it's in his face or his shoulder pad and the pad is pushing his helmet up
  10. I hate that they just say the name of the body part injured. "They confirmed that Jay Cutler has a groin." You don't say?
  11. you think they'd keep someone at home on the bootleg PA after being burned by it like 5 times
  12. Bostic looks lively in run D
  13. So what do we think the injury is? Torn groin? Labrum?
  14. Lindbergh wrote another piece on scout school for Grantland, this one focusing almost solely on Almora. http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/77854/baseball-scout-school-part-3-how-to-write-a-scouting-report
  15. I particularly like the last line...
  16. Looked like an even worse call on replay. Yeah he grabbed him and spun him around, but the ball was 30 feet over his head and out of bounds by the time it happened
  17. about time they get one right
  18. rules expert says that the correct ruling is essentially "He's a moron and didn't know the rules, so he's protected against his own stupidity"
  19. "gave himself up". Load of garbage
