  1. I hate the automatic 3-0 strike... glad it worked out and Willy got Javy home
  2. So, we just lost our best reliever for the next week at a minimum, maybe the whole year? Because Joe let him hit with the bases loaded and one out so he could pitch his second full inning after coming in in the middle of a third?
  3. Has anyone wanted to do anything more than Pedro wants to get a hit here?
  4. I guarantee Javy would have avoided Aguilar’s tag there.
  5. Zo is definitely who you want in those situations. Man that guy is awesome.
  6. They're even working extra rest into KBs rehab games! Sitting an hour while he waits for Chatwood to walk the park between ABs.
  7. Absolutely. It’s just laughable to me that they think his defense would be a positive in any way.
  8. Saw some Cards fans griping on Twitter that an announcer said Javy has the edge in the MVP race because he plays 3 positions. They argued “so does Carpenter”. It amazes me that they think Carpenters defense at 1st, 2nd and 3rd is even in the same stratosphere as Javy at 2nd, 3rd, and SS.
  9. I get more annoyed with the “If the Cubs sign Bryce how can they afford to re-sign Hendricks, Russell, Schwarber, etc.”. Who cares he’s Bryce horsefeathering Harper. Sign him now and figure horsefeathers out later. You sign them with the extra hundreds of millions you get on TV deals, tickets, World Series gear, etc. that you make after adding Bryce to the Cubs.
  10. In like 2013 when those guys were real prospects, maybe. Haven’t they all flamed out pretty much?? Maybe, but Duvall has been awful this year and doesn’t have a place in their OF. Taking a chance on Wisler and Sims is worth it since their pitching sucks.
  11. So, who comments first? Drinky Joe or Theo? And is it anything more than a fart noise and a wanking motion?
  12. Drop: Bryant Add: Betts also Drop: Cespedes Add: Haniger
  13. How many announcers are going to say Almora has good speed before one of their partners steps up and says “actually, he’s slow as horsefeathers.”?
  14. Nice of ESPN to keep showing current Cubs hanging with future Cub Bryce Harper.
  15. The Cubs say no first. And very quickly. Heyward might not live up to his contract. But he’ll come a lot closer to doing so than Fowler. And at least over the next three years, the difference in cost between the two is negligible. Also, Heyward would probably opt out just to not be in St Louis any longer than he has to be.
  16. The same way most trades occur in the NBA They before the lakers signed those one-year deals with Stephenson et al they could have absorbed the Kawhi contract while trading away contracts if lower value. Now they can’t. At least that was my take away As of right now, these are just agreements, not signings. So it really all just depends on when they make the different deals official.
