  1. Funny. A coach who enabled a predatory child rapist for a decade just got fired. Forgive me if I'm not in the mood for defensiveness about it. I don't really care what you're in the mood for, Kyle.
  2. you'll probably find your nsbb experience will be enhanced by not reading goony's posts any more. He'd probably disagree (see what I did there?)
  3. He's it on bail so that wouldn't be crazy. Although I don't know how frequently peeresses kill themselves. Is it their thing to stay alive and see all the crap they destroyed? Isn't he still insisting he's innocent?
  4. Because I have clearly supported that. What the [expletive] are you even arguing about?
  5. Would you not go? Do the football players not deserve some support? i don't care, the program and school don't deserve the support. i hope they lose every game the rest of the year by 100 points (which very well may happen.) still employed by psu: -tim curley -mike mcqueary If those two guys are still employed by season's end, I'll change your name to Raging Anus
  6. Forgive my defensiveness.....the only coach I've ever known on the team I've been a fan of for 25 years just got fired, destroying his legacy along the way. I'm not in the mood for people high-fiving over this
  7. Not even close. A fired football coach doesn't fix what happened to those kids. If anything, it distracts from Sandusky. I agree with the firing, but justice? Give me a [expletive] break How does it distract from Sandusky? The guy is a kid raper; he's already the ultimate villain and he's going to pay the price for it. It's not like his case is going to fall by the wayside because of this firing. Whose face is on ESPN right now?

  11. I agree. He just got fired and I support the decision. There is zero excuse for a decade of inaction
  12. at least you have guys like Berman loving the "Norris" division. The AFC North is strong as well, but no one cares about the Bengals or Ravens
  13. what a [expletive] disaster
  14. How about the Paterno Division and......oh, wait
  15. People here tend not to do that. It's an annoying habit. I get so [expletive] tired of this reading comprehension [expletive]. It's an internet message board, there's at least as good of odds that the author's post is less clear than they believe it to be as there is some failure of the audience to be able to read. Derwood - if you give a [expletive] what JoePa's intentions were, then you're not as disgusted as most (everyone?). He damn well intended not to use all his power to stop this. You think he intended to, but what, forgot to bring it up? Forgot he's the most powerful person in the damn town? His intentions were not to put an end to the abuse of children and that's clear from his failure to use his enormous power to do so. All I'm saying is that whether he was actively hiding what he knew from authorities or was naively assuming someone else would take care of it, the results were still horrifying. If a bartender keeps serving a drunk guy shots all night and that guy leaves the bar and kills himself in his car, it doesn't matter if the bartender intended for him to die. Whether the bartender was just helping the guy have a good time or was purposely putting the guy in harm's way, the result is the same: dead drunk guy. All that said, I understand that everyone (including me) is angry and horrified and want answers. There's nothing wrong with questioning Paterno's intentions....I'd like to know myself.
  16. We sure as [expletive] can figure out what his intentions weren't. But who cares? Regardless of his intentions, the results were the same.
  17. If you think I'm supporting Paterno here you're not reading very carefully
  18. a) What is the precedent for punishment when a coach commits an immoral (but not illegal) act that is unrelated to the current team? b) I have no idea what his intentions were, and neither do you
  19. As I said in the Rants thread, burn it to the ground
  20. Penn State can't go into Wisconsin at 6-1 with the Badgers 5-2. PSU's only hope is to beat NEB and OSU and leave that last game as academic. But who am I fooling, they're losing out
  21. are you saying I'm among the "minus 2"? Because I'm not arguing that JoePa should stay. I'm in the "burn it to the ground" camp in terms of the administration. The only thing I'm arguing is that a) the football team doesn't deserve to be punished for this and b) despite the outcome, I don't think Paterno's intentions were malicious (and yes, I'm aware that his intentions mean jack [expletive])
  22. a quick look at the remaining schedules for the B1G contenders: LEGENDS MSU: 7-2 (4-1): @IWA, IU, @NW UM: 7-2 (3-2): @UI, NEB, OSU NEB: 7-2 (3-2): @PSU, @UM, IWA IWA: 6-3 (3-2): MSU, @PUR, @NEB Michigan State clearly has the easiest road to Indy, though Nebraska could easily run the table. LEADERS PSU: 8-1 (5-0): NEB, @OSU, @WIS WIS: 7-2 (3-2): @MIN, @UI, PSU OSU: 6-3 (3-2): @PUR, PSU, @UM UI: 6-3 (2-3): UM, WIS, @MIN Though PSU is in the driver's seat, they have the hardest remaining schedule of any B1G team. Add in the [expletive] storm of controversy, and they could easily lose out. After a rough start, the Buckeyes could run the table and sneak their way to the title game, while Wisconsin could right the ship and get there as well. Illinois is on the outside looking in
  23. How much money have they donated to Special Olympics? None. God made people r3tarded because of the gays or something
  24. Oh, it's a "massive pedophilia ring" now? We've upgraded from one rapist to an entire ring of rapists? You really should report this to the authorities, Theo
  25. Nothing funnier than kiddie rape, I've always said
