  1. Former #3 overall pick Jeff Clement is retiring http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/baseball/2014/03/31/jeff-clement-pittsburgh-pirates-seattle-mariners-marshalltown-retiring-mlb/7131055/ what a bust
  2. yeah, but 5 of the "original six" teams are in
  3. Anaheim clinches top seed in West. Boston clinches President's Cup Tampa Bay can get home ice advantage with a win today. Central winner decided today as well
  4. yes, missed that, thanks. They would have to win and Colorado lose, as Colorado has the tie-breaker with ROW They are tied so St Louis could lose in a Shootout if Colorado loses in regulation. right, a St. Louis win or OTL coupled with a Colorado loss would give the Blues the division

  6. EASTERN CONFERENCE: #1A Boston vs. #2WC Detroit #2A Tampa Bay vs. #3A Montreal (Montreal could move to #2 w/ a win or OTL and a TB loss, or a win and a TB OTL) #1M Pittsburgh vs. #1WC Columbus #2M New York Rangers vs. #3M Philadelphia WESTERN CONFERENCE #1C Colorado vs. #1WC Minnesota (Colorado could face Dallas w/ a win and two Anaheim losses) #2C St. Louis vs. #3C Chicago #1P Anaheim vs. #2WC Dallas #2P San Jose vs. #3P Los Angeles
  7. This is a thread for the bad things. In case you're confused, which it seems you are. I'd rather just start the season by platooning our castoffs and actually giving the higher ceiling guys a chance to sink or swim, as the big leagues are the final step in player development. This. If you don't think Olt can be an every day player, just say so and go look for the next 3B. I don't mind it with fringy players, but the idea that a core player gets to the majors and suddenly can only hit one type of pitching is absurd. Olt isn't healthy so your platoon call on him is premature. It may end up being the case, but calling it that right now is incorrect. He's magically healthy enough to face lefties but too ouchy to play against righties?

  9. Cubs winning in spite of themselves
  10. so much platooning
  11. Can't wait for Bonafacio to get on so Renteria can [expletive] BUNT AGAIN
  12. Or if he keeps pitching like this, let's trade him while he is in his prime and his value is at an all-time high. and then when (if) THOSE pitchers become consistent and reliable, we can trade THEM for prospects, forever, and forever
  13. Nate Horton out 6 weeks after abdominal surgery. 3 of CBJ's top 9 forwards are on the shelf. FUUUUUUU
  14. Drop Josh Hamilton Add Carlos Beltran
  15. Oh thank god. Now to catch Philly....
  16. Epic collapse by Toronto down the stretch
  17. Just your typical 1-on-5 goal.....don't think the goalie thought he was going to shoot it One win in the next 3 clinches a spot for the CBJ. Tonight is the make-up game against Dallas (the cardiac event game). CBJ will start with a 1-0 lead, but they'll play a full 60 minutes
  18. Braun with 3 HR and 7 RBI so far tonight
  19. so, another double-championship for UConn? *yawn*
  20. you'd be better off putting in a pitch clock or a "no leaving the batter's box" rule
  21. or who was picked in the Raiders' spot in '11 and '12 ETA: 2011 - OT Nate Solder (by New England) #17 overall 2012 - CB Dre Kirkpatrick (by Cincinnati) #17 overall
  22. Don't have time to dwell on it. Columbus is finishing with 8 games in 12 days. Need to regroup for the Islanders on Sunday and Phoenix on Tuesday
  23. and it's unfair. completely, utterly unfair to the other team.
