  1. Outside of getting things like the convention program and some coupons, I don't get the point of paying for this convention. They haven't checked my ticket once all weekend. In fact, I had two tickets, but a third friend came with us and saw everything without buying a pass.
  2. In Muskat's article, he also said he got drunk and celebrated after learning of the trade. That and his twitter stuff, it's hilarious how excited he is to be Cub. He mentioned getting drunk as well. He and Motte were hilarious about everything.
  3. Someone asked Miguel Mongero how he found out he got traded. He said he read it online, and to this day, the D-Backs front office hasn't called him about it. Sounds like [expletive] to me, but funny if true
  4. Gift store is selling grab bags (basically bags of crap) for $20. Mine has a Fujikawa shersey, which is worth it for the lulz
  5. The Meet the New Cubs session was great. It sucks that it was scheduled to overlap the Joe Maddon session. Terrible scheduling
  6. This Ricketts family Q&A has turned into people reading prepared monologues of praise. I'm not even over there yet. That session didn't exactly jump off the page as a must attend event
  7. Edwin Jackson got hardcore booed. I kinda felt bad
  8. Yes, but he was late
  9. Dempster is killing it hosting this late night show
  10. Every attendee gets a little "peel off" card that gets you a guaranteed autograph on Saturday (cuts you to the front of the line?) I got Joe Maddon
  11. Just saw Ryan Dempster in the lobby
  12. Right now he's in non-guaranteed contract territory, most likely third round. A full year of punking the god-awful Big Ten and another run at the NC puts him in the guaranteed $20mil top 10 pick territory IF all of that happens AND IF he beats out JT AND IF he doesn't get injured at any point The local sentiment is that he wouldn't have stayed had Urban not basically told him he would be the starter (and JT the backup)
  13. Except not like that in any way Way to take a simple joke seriously there, fella Cardale is getting bad advice, IMO. Anything can happen while he's playing football for free. Right now he's in non-guaranteed contract territory, most likely third round. A full year of punking the god-awful Big Ten and another run at the NC puts him in the guaranteed $20mil top 10 pick territory
  14. This is going to be a timeshare seminar, isn't it
  15. Except not like that in any way
  16. lol Massive local media fail. They were reporting him declaring as fact
  17. Cardale going pro
  18. The red flag with Mariota, IMO, is the question of his ability vs. "system quarterback". You can count on one hand the number of successful NFL QB's who came out of spread option college offenses
  19. Cardale Jones only has two days to decide if he's declaring for the draft (underclassmen deadline is 1/15). Not sure if that's enough time for him to get enough feedback to make the leap
  20. Does Mark May still think TCU deserves to be in over OSU?
  21. yeah we know http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/rev.gif
  22. wow, OSU is falling apart
  23. should be pretty simple: hold onto the ball until you're on the sideline. I don't even get the "cool" factor of dropping the ball right away after scoring
  24. Unless he's transferring out of Division 1, he'd have to sit out a year and be two years from the draft. Right but he'd sit a year, then play a year and be like every other 5th year draft eligible QB. Though transferring to a top FCS program would be an interesting move. I REALLY think that's not a rule anymore. He is immediately eligible. I REALLY think you're wrong. Of course it's still a rule....otherwise, players would constantly transfer to other schools the second they don't like their playing time
  25. No. Then again, Urban has said that Braxton WILL be back, when it's clear he won't, so I wouldn't believe anything coming from the OSU camp on the QB situation
