  1. You should feel good about that....No team that was #3 in the first playoff rankings has ever won in the playoffs
  2. Heard that too. Didn’t the Astros have the best record in baseball last year? Nope, Dodgers
  3. If Price was pitching this well for the Cubs, Maddon would have pulled him after 3 2/3
  4. How the hell does Trubisky have a 66% completion percentage this year?
  5. They need to sit Mack until he's healthy. I'd rather have no Mack for a few weeks, then full strength down the stretch than hobbled Mack all year
  6. [tweet] [/tweet] Even tRump thinks Dave Roberts sucks
  7. yeah i feel like you missed 2/3 of that post So above average for me
  8. and Peavy was a 2.8 fWAR player in 2009
  9. The number of people in that thread who said "this off season is a complete bust if we don't get Peavy" is hilarious in hindsight
  10. Yes, definitely better to pull your pitcher who has given up 1 run in 4 2/3 IP to make sure you get a matchup where the batter has a 0.07 worse batting average
  11. this thing is bad and doesnt work yes i know the example i chose didn't actually cost them and may have actually greatly prolonged their opportunity to win actually i just dont like it See, you get it
  12. This is the type of game that makes the recent trend of "bullpenning" fall apart. Yes, its super rare for a game to go this long, but the tendency to pull starter early (who aren't struggling) just to play super specific matchups is bordering on silly. And yes, I know, pulling Porcello in the 5th is not what cost the Red Sox this game, I get it, but it's a trend that I don't personally like
  13. 30 years ago you were .500 if you averaged 110. That’s surprising, since defenses could basically clothesline you if you drove the lane
  14. 18 teams are averaging 110 ppg or more Last year only 6 averaged that 10 years ago, 0 teams averaged that
  15. The ESPN radio announcers spent about an inning and a half actively campaigning for Machado to not be signed by anyone because he is such a lazy, loafing player
  16. With 2 outs and RISP, the Red Sox, AS A TEAM, are slashing better than '41 Ted Williams. I wonder what that feels like
  17. Maybe, but batting 9 righties in a row is generally a bad idea no matter what the splits of your hitters are Why? Let's the opposing pitcher get into a rhythm and repeatable approach. Giving him a different look once or twice in the lineup forces him to adjust
  18. How did sitting those guys work out for him? There’s an alternate universe where Roberts started all three guys in both games, they went a combined 1-14 with 8 Ks off Sale and Price and lost all three games, and alternate universe Derwood is laughing at Roberts for not starting righties instead. Maybe, but batting 9 righties in a row is generally a bad idea no matter what the splits of your hitters are
  19. Dave Roberts, lineup wizard, sat his top home run hitters for the first two games because god forbid they face lefties Muncy, Bellinger and Pederson combined for a whopping 15 HR vs LHP. Bellinger had a .681 OPS vs LH and Pederson had a .512. How did sitting those guys work out for him?
  20. and blow it
  21. Dave Roberts, lineup wizard, sat his top home run hitters for the first two games because god forbid they face lefties
