Just because a dumb and non optimal decision has worked out doesn’t make the decision any less dumb and non-optimal Sure, but also just because the decision has been suboptimal over 462 PA's doesn't mean it will forever be going forward. We aren't talking about a 10 year career's worth of splits here

Why? Until his BABIP regresses to the mean, keep him out there. ...what? He's batting .330/.370/.455 against righties this year. The numbers are elevated by a high BABIP, but he's not exactly struggling against right handers.

It's going to be another frustrating off season for the CBJ. While I appreciate that the team has done better in the past 4 seasons than they had in the previous 15, the front office is all in on "draft and develop" and basically refuses to sign anyone significant in free agency. The strategy is great if you manage to draft a McDavid, Crosby or Kane. So far the Jackets have seen four players sign elsewhere, while only adding Riley Nash, and all signs point towards Panarin not wanting to sign an extension.
