    I thought it has been made pretty clear that Giles didn't seriously consider any offer besides the Padres. Most of his "interest" in the Cubs and Yankees was pure media fabrication

    Is it like before a Blackhawks game at the old Chicago Stadium? No. I still remember during the first gulf war the BHawks and St. Louis Blues played on a Saturday night. It was only about a week into the air part of the War but feelings were high. An already loosened up crowd went nuts when Wayne came out and belted the National Anthem. People in my section actually passed out sparklers as others furiously waved American flags. right, true, but how about now?

    call me a terrorist,. but I don't feel like the anthem needs to be sung before every sporting event. It loses its meaning. Its just one of those things you have to do before starting. The level of enthusiasm by those in the crowd singing it is about 0.02 out of 10. I say save it for the important events.

    I'm curious when Hendry got his lobotomy. 3 years ago he was a genius when he fleeced the Pirates for A-Ram, Lofton and Simon. He got Lee for next to nothing. Everyone here thought he was the greatest thing to hit the front office in years. Now he's suddenly less competent than Jim Bowden. Amazing how our perceptions change

    Clearly the Cubs need to: sign Macias trade for Vidro, Cano, Soriano, and maybe 2 or 3 more 2B. Then the lineup can be: CF Bynum SS Perez 3B Macias 1B Walker LF Soriano 2B Cano RF Hairston C Vidro With that much speed and gamership, how could we lose?
