  1. i watched the Bulls during commercials of my other shows. The real Shaq finally showed up and Chicago had no answer. Had he shown up earlier it might have been a sweep. Tyson looked like a child trying to stop a bulldozer
  2. i'm pretty sure that WCIU, CLTV and Fox national Saturday games are all blacked out on EI
  3. I have to say that this is the first game all year where I've truly missed Eddy Curry. The Bulls have no answer for Shaq. None. He is simply scoring at will
  4. I'll give you college basketball any day of the week.....as long as that day is between November and early April. Otherwise tonight I'm watching: Survivor My Name is Earl The Office End of Game 6 (Bulls/Heat) My pillow
  5. this has also been posted elsewhere on the board. It's just not that funny
  6. i'm not very "optymisty" that he'll return
  7. It all doesn't matter since A-Rod and/or Pujols will break Bonds record eventually. It will be a shortlived reign at the top for Barry. Plus he'll be dead at age 47 from all the roids
  8. meaning once you switch from righty to lefty you can't switch back?
  9. I bet that was realllly nice. That's a great Paul song. He had some good quiet guitar songs on the White Album: Blackbird, I Will, Mother Nature's Son. my wife and my first wedding dance was to Paul's rendition of "Til There Was You"
  10. I went 7-9. There is no guarantee that any of the Lee/Prior/Wood trio will be back by then (or have significant playing time) but there is no way the Reds stay this hot
  11. Does this make my 1995 Maui Stingrays shirt and cap less valuable now?
  12. Either the Cubs will continue their trend and score 1 run, or they will inexplicably score 16 and win 16-4 or something. Then they'll go back to sucking again
  13. He better watch out for the recent outbreak of mumps
  14. Sorry if there is another thread on this.... MLB's handling of the Bonds chasing Ruth soap opera has me grinning from ear to ear. Rather than pandering to this silly chase for 2nd place, Selig and friends have publicly stated that a) there will be no ceremony to celebrate Bonds not breaking any records and b) there will be no authenticated balls to celebrate Bonds not breaking any records. I'm happy to see that they haven't fallen into the ESPN hype machine. Yes, Babe Ruth was arguably the best player of all time, but Bonds isn't "breaking" Ruth's record, as it isn't Ruth's record to break anymore. The record is Aaron's and until Bonds is close to that, I don't want ESPN to break into every Bonds at bat to see him hit 715. It's ludicrous. So hats off to MLB for actually having the correct perspective on this (for once).
  15. It's all or nothing for me: A) David Ortiz 11 B) Albert Pujols 15 Mark Teixeira 3 C) Carlos Delgado 11 Bobby Abreu 4 Hank Blalock 5 D) Todd Helton 1 Frank Thomas 5 Chipper Jones 2 Adrian Beltre 1 *) Prince Fielder 5 Total: 63
  16. soon we'll hear of setbacks due to gignovitis and scoliosis
  17. My prediction that this OF won't hit 50 comboned HR is looking pretty good right now
  18. They are all at 9:40 for me, so even more reason not to watch
  19. The refs didn't lose this game for the Bulls. The refs didn't make them shoot 30%, the refs didn't cause them to not take advantage to a long stretch with Shaq and Wade off the floor. I'm sick of people blaming refs for everything. The Bulls should have won this game by double digits and did not. As such, they will likely lose the series.
  20. Merkcer was the nicest and least arrogant baseball player I ever met. that's fine. but the way he handled his spat with stone was lame and unprofessional
  21. the ESPN email server probably sends this as an auto-response to any email having the words Joe Morgan in it.
  22. What does that mean? Means that he came advertised as the next great thing but can't get it together at the major league level. I know Guzman's sample size is small to this point, but I see similarities nonetheless. Great arm strength but too much nibbling, too many walks, little confidence. That's about the most ridiciulously premature giving up on a prospect I've ever seen. Pitchers don't show up with all their guns blazing. It's very rare for guys to have much success in their first few games, and it's not rare at all for them to give up lots of walks, hits and runs. Agreed. The hyperbole around here lately all around is ridiculous. sorry, I'm frustrated. Of course Cy Young could be pitching today and the cubs wouldn't win (0 runs is a tough way to win)
  23. Jacque Jones makes me pine for Jeromy Burnitz
  24. What does that mean? Means that he came advertised as the next great thing but can't get it together at the major league level. I know Guzman's sample size is small to this point, but I see similarities nonetheless. Great arm strength but too much nibbling, too many walks, little confidence.
  25. Angel Guzman = Juan Cruz Redux btw, Cubs have been outscored 34-4 since Saturday. Against the Brewers and Pirates. I'll be in the bathtub with my straight razor if anyone needs me.
