  1. choosing the wrong options will get killer bees sent to you instead.
  2. I think the 7th inning stretch should be done by Harry impersonators.
  3. The bubble? That's madness. Uh, yeah, I'm pretty sure a Top 25 ranking means you are safely off the bubble.
  4. Your "bottom feeder" Nittany Lions are 14-12 (6-9...8th place) with a win over Illinois (in Champaign), 2 wins over Northwestern, 2 wins over Purdue, and a win at home against the Hoosiers. If the season ended today, they would play Indiana in the first round (at the not so neutral Conseco Field House) in the Big11 tourney /end defense of much maligned Penn State team
  5. Just got back from the PSU vs. NU game. JMD is right, free throws were a huge difference. NU only took 3 and missed them all. Reason? They NEVER passed the ball inside the 3-point line. The only 2 pointers they made were on fastbreaks or rebounds of 3-pointers. I didn't catch the final stats, but at halftime, NU had shot 21 times, 15 from 3-point land. And NU shot 3's from ANYWHERE on the floor. Not quite JJ Reddick silly, but many well beyond the line. I guess if you live or die by the 3, you're going to die sometimes. Good win for PSU, who now guarantees themselves a winning regular season record. Last game is @Iowa on Wed. or Thurs (don't remember).
  6. There was an article in the paper today saying that with the expanded Big East as well as the unbalanced schedules in the Big Ten and Big Twelve, the NCAA selection comittee has a really hard task this year. Strength of schedule alone can't be a huge determining factor anymore.
  7. Penn State had their chance to win it in Bloomington tonight but put up a stupid 3 point shot late when down by 2. Bad decisions cost you on the road.
  8. ESPN.com's latest "bracketology" has: Iowa (3 seed) Ohio St. (2) Wiconsin (5) Michigan St. (4) Michigan (11) Illinois (3)
  9. Yes indeed he is. I wish he were a little tougher mentally but he's the best out there IMO. the knock on him for being a bad postseason player is completely unfounded if you look at the stats (if that is what you are referring to) No it wasn't. I was referring to him compromising too often and trying to please people. i see. carry on then.
  10. And pitch w/ a sub-4 era in the world series. that's not really fair. If Ruth were playing today he wouldn't be doing both hitting and pitching. By that standard you could say that no one will ever be as good as Cy Young because they don't pitch complete games on 2 days rest
  11. it was indeed a poor decision, but it's no reason to throw homophobic insults at them. This board frowns on that sort of thing

How soon, as a Steeler fan, I try to. the sooner the better, i agree
  14. he's no Alex Rodriguez, that's for sure edit: my post was funnier when the title had a-rod's name misspelled
  15. i'm already over it. It's short season A-Ball. They are about as far from the Cardinals as you can be and not be in Rookie League. Plus, the affiliation runs out after this summer, so they may latch on to a new team. I'm just thrilled to have pro baseball in town (points to avatar). I'll probably be buying season tickets when my tax return comes. I have a thread in Minor Leagues that has updates of the stadium construction.

Isn't he the only former XFL player in the NFL? Me love he snapshot on espn: http://espn.starwave.com/i/nfl/profiles/players/statsid/s5850.jpg how soon you forget the XFL's one and only MVP, Pittsburgh SteelerTommy Maddox

it was Vince McMahon's league! If it had been like live action NFL Blitz, that would have rocked.
  19. If he convinced Jacque to use them, Juan could perform a great service to the team. ...by either: A) enhancing Jaque's performance or B) getting him baninated from the team
  20. PSU made another important step towards an NIT bid. If they finish with 6 or 7 wins in the conference, that would be huge for a team that is graduating just one player this year (Parker).
  21. The Sox hit home runs, pitched well and stayed healthy. The Cubs have the pitching, don't have good luck with health, and have an outfield that my hit 50 HR combined....
  22. you forgot option C: "i'd rather shoot myself in the face than watch either"
  23. so 82 outside of chicago? pretty good. don't think i'm getting Extra Innings this year :x
  24. 800's IIRC. but HomePlate isn't on the DirecTV basic package. it's an upgrade
  25. There's no shame in being compared to the greatest rebounder of all time. As long as he keeps his head on straight, I think Tyson has a solid chance of developing into a player of Ben Wallace's caliber. He's been in the league five seasons, but he's only 23. So yeah, the Bulls are spending all that money to have Tyson grab every rebound in sight, block shots, and play solid post defense -- and he's been doing that of late pretty much. he needs another big man though, cuz he scored a lot more when curry was around.
