  1. I love Ryu. Look at those guns! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fc/Streetfighter_ryu_illust.png /actually preferred Guile
  2. I had the same as you, but I had IU getting upset first round and OSU losing to Florida (don't ask me why, I never research my brackets...just go on hunches)
  3. Your NIT teams (some of you guys have interest I know): REGION 1: 1. Maryland 2. St. Joe's 3. Hofstra 4. Colorado 5. Old Dominion 6. Nebraska 7. Penn St. 8. Rutgers 9. Mahattan 10. Fairley Dickinson REGION 2: 1. Michigan 2. Creighton 3. Miami (FL) 4. Vanderbilt 5. Notre Dame 6. Oklahoma St. 7. Temple 8. Akron 9. UTEP 10. Lipscomb REGION 3: 1. Louisville 2. Missouri St. 3. Houston 4. Clemson 5. La. Tech 6. BYU 7. Stanford 8. Virginia 9. N. Arizona 10. Deleware St. REGION 4: 1. Cincinnati 2. Florida St. 3. S. Carolina 4. Minnesota 5. Wake Forest 6. W. Kentucky 7. Miami (OH) 8. Butler 9. Charlotte 10. Ga. Southern Region 4 looks the toughest. I'm just glad PSU got in...they are turning things around and deserved another game. They get Rutgers at home (cool). Notre Dame gets Vandy at home. Any other schools of note for all you alumni out there?
  4. Maybe it meant 9:00 CT/10:00 ET? I guess not, since I found the bracket. http://www.cstv.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/nit/genrel/auto_pdf/cumulative-stats Thanks! Too bad the frigging NIT homepage doesn't even have it on the main page.
  5. okay, i'm probably the only one here who cares, but i'm annoyed that it's now 9:30 and no NIT brackets yet. Unlike most of you, I don't have the good fortune of rooting for schools good enough for the real tourney :x
  6. I just snooped around the NIT website and found out how they are doing the 40 team field this year: 1. Four "regions" of 10 teams, seeded 1-10. 2. First round has 7 play 8 and 9 play 10 in each region. 3. Second round is now down to 32, with the 7/8 winner playing the #2 seed, while the 9/10 winner plays the #1 seed. http://www.nit.org is the website. Picks are announced around 9pm tonight on ESPNU. Some teams have automatic invites already, as any team that won it's regular season conference but lost in their conference tourney (and didn't get picked for the NCAA tourney) gets the auto-bid. Lipscomb, for example.
  7. They played tougher top 50 teams than Air Force did and lost to the eventual BE champion in the last second. Show me how Air Force is better. Air Force at least has wins against Miami and and Georgia Tech, two decent power conference teams. I think they key difference is that while they lost their last game, they didn't get blown out, like SMS did, I'm guessing. *shrug* I get a kick out of that. A M-M plays 2 average or below average ACC teams and get more credit than Florida St does for beating Duke and going over 500 in the ACC. I'm not arguing with you coach about this justwondering how the committee came to the conclusion on how Air Force is better than Cincy, Florida St, Michigan or Missouri St. and despite the non-conference light-weights, how is FSU's SOS so bad when they have to play over 1/2 their games against the ACC? I'm guessing it's becuase they are scheduling teams that are very very weak, like Alcorn State, Louisiana Monroe, Texas Southern, Bowling Green, Stetson, and Campbell. right, I know, but so do many people (need I drag out the Illini's non-con games?). I'm just saying playing Duke twice automatically gives them a tougher schedule than most MM or small conference teams

  9. They're not supposed to look at how many teams a conference is getting. They're supposed to pick the 34 best teams that didn't receive an automatic bid. You can't penalize a team because 8 other teams in their conference were also good. True, but to play Devil's Advocate here, Cincy went 8-8 in the Big East, but only two of those wins (Marquette and W. Virginia) were teams above them in the standings. The other 6 wins were against DePaul, S. Florida, Providence, etc. Their only quality non-conference win was against LSU, with losses to Memphis and Dayton (who they played twice  ) and Xavier. Does Air Force have better quality wins than LSU, WV and Marquette? I'm not arguing that Air Force deserves it over Cincy. I'm just stating that Cincy is not some obvious choice for the tourney.

  11. so, is picking open yet?
  12. No kidding. They have to go to San Diego with 3 other west coast teams in their pod. Air Force is a good 13 seed to draw, but they got an awful draw. and if they make it out of there, it's UConn, Tennessee and UNC all possibilities. Yikes. I can't wait until 9pm EST for the NIT picks. Too bad I don't have ESPNU
  13. I hear the point about Cincy, but could you really add a 9th Big East team? Basically they are out thanks to Syracuse running the table.
  14. Probably been stated, but I didnt feel like searching through ten pages. I cannot fathom how Tennessee is a 2 seed. I just don't understand it. They finish second in the conference regular season and get knocked out early in the conference tournament, lose 4 of 6 to close out the season, and play in a weak conference and they get a two seed. I just don't understand it. i'm no expert (or vols fan) but a quick look says they won the SEC East, were upset by a team that made it to the SEC title game, and only other loss to a non-tourney team was early to Oklahoma St. Early win against Texas as well. Illionois, comparatively, had one fewer conference win, lost to two non-tournet teams (Penn St. and Michigan) and had non-con wins against UNC and Georgetown. I'm guessing a win over MSU in the BTT would have netted them the #3. A #2 was a pipe dream
  15. Illinois is in a brutal bracket. No way they make the Final Four. None.
  16. This cracks me up simply because both of my girls are like 95th percentile on height and weight and have never fit into the age-appropriate clothing. My younger just turned 6 months and is wearing 9 and 12 month clothing. My 3 year old wears 4T and 5T clothing.
  17. My sim league started when we all thought Brownlie would be great. He has a 69-37 career record for me (how little we knew...)
  18. But to me, if I see a thread titled "Oh my god!" and the only thing in there is a link, I don't even bother with it. I'm not going to click random links that I know nothing about, especially when the thread title gives no clue.
  19. Bubbles bursting left and right the last few days
  20. ETA to slaughter rule being enforced?
  21. I voted for Pagan, but Grissom will naturally fill the void left by Macias in Dusty's Gang.
  22. some bad decision making at the end by Miami. I'm not sure why their coach was so mad about not getting a time out after the 3....I'm pretty sure they had no timeouts.
  23. I tip my hat to O$U. They got hot when it counted and showed why they are the better team. That said, I think Penn State can win a few games in the NIT and will be better next year. Parker is the only senior, Geary is a great shooter, and the team had the BigTen Freshman of the Year.
  24. Here is Dusty's brilliant analysis of Pagan vs Grissom (from today's Herald): Deep, Dusty....deep.
