    The GSU/Southern game is the same to me as Army/Navy. I appreciate the rivalry, but have zero interest in watching it on TV. Most of the cool stuff (bands, pageantry, cadets on the field, etc.) can only be experienced live.

    The P.A.'s on Gameday weren't doing a good job. More than a few signs that were borderline inappropriate ("Quinn ryhmes with Brokeback" leading the way")

    I really don't get ideas of starting Lugo or Soriano in CF. They have COMBINED to play....wait for it....ONE game in CF in their careers. I know, let's sign JD Drew to play catcher! Maybe Vicente Padilla can spell Izturis at SS!

    I don't know who to root for in the USC ND game. With Arkansas out, it looks like it'll be USC in the NC game, or, if ND wins, Florida (assuming they beat arkansas next week). I'm not a huge ND fan, but I'm frankly sick of seeing USC in the title game (this would be, what, 4 years straight?)

    nope, not even then Retired number? Cubs won't retire his number unless he gets into the hall of fame. They only retired Santo's because it was (is) looking like that will happen posthoumously (sp?)

    Thanks Bruce, good to hear. The guy just had a bone spur that shreaded one of his achilies and has a bad history with his other. I know he said he feels great and is a fast healer, but the approach the cubs are taking with Prior and Wood (we aren't counting on them but if they are healthy, bonus) would be the same approach I would take with Floyd. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, hes always had good IsoD and IsoP, but I'd sure do my due diligence before giving him any money. Sure. Sign him to a 1 or 2 million base salary with incentives for PA's and I'm fine with it.

    I love Ron Santo. Good for you. Would you love Sammy if he fit the Santo mould? Santo is a good guy and was a good ballplayer. But do you think he'd be "Cubs legend Ron Santo" and have his number retired if he retired from baseball and didn't continue to be a Cubs cheerleader for 30 years?

    i'm willing to endure a down year from Soriano in 2007. Look at how bad Beltran was in his first year for the Mets

    It would take him becoming a "bleed blue", rah rah Cubs guy. Maybe get a radio gig as a barely qualified color guy. Generate sympathy with poor health. That sort of thing

    Romo is going to get more and more cocky each week and eventually he's going to get destroyed. The media is putting him on a pedestal, he's boinking Jessica Simpson....easy for him to start feeling like Superman. It will be his undoing

    this is comical. in any given year the Big East would be on par with the Big Ten or SEC if they added those two power programs. if the Big Ten added Notre Dame, they would be hands down the best conference in the country. It's people like you that vote in the coaches poll. You assume everything before they even play. I prefer to let them play and see where it goes. he's a work study student in the athletic department?
