I don't think so. It's like comparing a pitcher and a hitter. They are both still baseball players, even though they are asked to do different things. You can trade one for the other, value one over the other, etc. We've seen there are "Mariotti" type beat writers as well as columnists. Bruce is a writer who appears to stick to the facts and just tell the story. He writes columns from time to time (like today) that express opinion. But instead of just going on a Jay rant, he simply talks about the baseball team and what it can, and should do to win more games. sure, I'm just saying that people who complain that Mariotti isn't using facts and stats in his column don't understand that he's paid for his opinion. I'm not saying he does a good job of it, or that he isn't purposely stirring the pot.
