ESPN blows. I don't know how we can still be considered a mid-major after 6 straight tournament appearances, 2 Sweet 16 appearances, close to a 3rd Sweet 16 apperance a few years ago, and close to an Elite 8 apperance tonight. We've landed the two best recruiting class that we've ever seen for the next two years and if we can keep Lowery, I have all the faith in the world that Sweet 16 apperances should be the norm. I know I'm biased, but we've passed Gonzaga as the best non-BCS school. Memphis? ETA: Your point still stands, SIU can't be considered a scrappy mid-major, especially if Lowery stays. scrappy? no. mid-major? yes. "mid-major" has nothing to do with how well you play and everything to do with what conference you play in. As long as SIU plays in, what, the MVC? (seriously, I don't remember), they'll be a mid-major. Conversely, PSU and NWU will always be "power conference" teams no matter how much they suck
