  1. luckily for us, the Brewers are actually playing worse
  2. Hahahaha  He is a professional athlete, if he can't handle the pressure he should work as a toll booth operator or something. Jeez, the excuses are already starting to roll before the game even starts. Would be nice to see him step up and force Lou to play him. are Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez under the pressure of going 3 for 4 with no errors every game?
  3. The problem is they also hit a lot of homers. Coors might be the only away stadium where they survive... Don't they put their baseballs in a humidor up in Coors now? I remember hearing that the HR numbers have leveled out and become much more comparable to the rest of the league because of this. the Rockies have only hit 60 HR in 51 home games this year
  4. on the one hand, i'm glad Murton is in there on the other, i hate the undue pressure he's under to perform every time he starts or else be banished to the bench for 5 more games

  6. Bloody @#$@@!! Sox. Now it isn't possible for us to make a deal for him. lol. banedom just said in the game thread that censored swearing is against the forum's policies ;) That is true. The reference is more towards something like sh$t, but I can see where you might think the line is fuzzy. :banned: where's Modzilla when we need him?
  7. Sigh. That's just not smart decision making. That's just his opinion. Besides, it might work well. He isn't the greatest 2B either... Lou is willing to sacrifice some defense if the player can hit so if EPatt hits he'll play somewhere. I fail to see where it makes sense to call up a 2nd basemen who hasnt seen major league pitching at all, and play him in CF, over your top prospect who may have made the adjustments needed and plays top notch D. Obviously, they got a more favorable report about Patterson. Anyway, Stone doesn't know if he'll play CF it was his opinion. it doesn't make sense otherwise. Which 2B would you rather have in the OF: DeRosa or Patterson?
  8. fine. we didn't need a 7th OF'er
  9. maybe when Soriano comes back we can keep Patterson in CF and DeRosa in RF to have the "all second basemen outfield" ©
  10. that really is unfair. if he just wore it to get plunked, I wouldn't care (as he doesn't actually get plunked often), but if it corrects his mechanics and gives him an advantage in hitting, well that's BS and it's ludicrous the league allows it
  11. I understand what you are saying, but there are alot of things that get discussed here that are alot more unrealistic than replacing Marquis with Gallgher. like a lineup with theriot, derosa, soto, pie and patterson would be playoff caliber?
  12. MLB related videos are taken down nearly as soon as they are posted on YouTube
  13. My goodness, that's an awful comparison. yeah, Murton never won the ROY Award (ha ha ha)
  14. FWIW, my "get over it" comment was not in reference to saying Marquis stinks, but to the notion of releasing him. It's more constructive to discuss realistic solutions to the problem.
  15. Why? Marshall and Hill will be fine. Don't worry about it. But Marquis wont, so there is reason to have concern about our rotation. Show me a team in the NL that doesn't have at least 1 or 2 question marks in their rotation? There are better options than Marquis starting is my point. With where the Cubs are at right now in the race, they cant afford to be giving a game away every 5 days. The Cubs are not going to release/DFA Marquis. Get over it I liked it better when you ignored me. The point of a message board is to discuss these things, and while I know its not going to happen, it doesnt mean it cant still be discussed. So you my friend, get over it. I agree that he has been VERY bad recently, but unfortunately, getting rid of him really isn't an option. Maybe we can luck into an injury and he'll lose his job to Gallagher. That's the only hope of getting him out of the rotation

  17. Brower is average at best, and is 34. Why the heck would they call him up over one of their top pitching prospects, who is ready to contribute in the majors? Their pen isn't good and just got worse. HENDRY'ED!

  19. i have a feeling that had I been there live, my reaction to his entrance would have been completely different
  20. By all account I've read (besides fans here), DeRosa is an above average defensive outfielder. he has seemed a little overwhelmed the last couple of games Based on what? based on bad routes to balls, misplaying balls off the wall, etc.
  21. if only it was 2000 (cirillo) or 2002 (kim)

  23. actually, many of these guys would have to play DOWN to expectations, as they are playing above their heads right now. do not want Who exactly is playing above their head besides Fontenot? derosa lilly marquis howry marmol
