    I saw him hit 2 HR against the Marlins His 20 HR month of June in 1998. the whole HR chase with McGwire in 1998. I have fond memories of him, but much like Jordan on the Wizards, I don't give a fig about him anymore

    i didn't cheer. It was a meaningless home run on a terrible team

    good for him, I guess, but it's a pretty empty accomplishment, especially since he's doing it on a horrible team and only returned to baseball to reach this "milestone". Doesn't change how I felt about him in his glory days, nor does it feel how I feel about him now

    To confirm the Towers/Maddux thing, I heard Towers on the Jim Rome show. It was hilarious. Jim asks if Towers had any hesitancy about Barrett's character and clubhouse incidents and he says "I went to Maddux and asked him and Greg said 'what are you waiting for? Get him in here!'" To which I said, out loud, "right, because you loved him so much before that you insisted he never catch you."
