    additionally, the Cubs tie in with two Sox series means that when they next play the AL East in Interleague play, they may leave TB off the schedule entirely

    PREDICTION: 2nd inning, just before Murton steps to the plate, Hamels leaves the game with a blister. The Phillies bring in a right-hander, forcing Lou to pinch hit Jones for Murton before he ever gets to swing

    just to play devil's advocate (again), don't you have to apply the same "he was good last year" logic to Laird that you do Murton? Okay, good may be stretching it, but a 106 OPS+ and a .795 OPS are better than anything we have catching right now.

    did she get really fat after yall split up and then you revisited? no, but I only slept with her to a) make her leave me alone and b) to bust a slump in my experience, sleeping with a woman does nothing towards getting her to leave me alone...in fact it pretty much works the other way i dated her freshman year, didn't break it off at the end of the year, but never talked to her all summer. came back, tried picking it up again, but i wasn't into it. she semi-stalked me the rest of the year and found her way up to my room one night somehow so I said "well, what the hell?" Did the deed, booted her from my room....yeah, pretty much a low point on the chivalry scale but i think she got the picture

    very funny, Floyd should play but not every day,he can't physically handle it and by the way Murton had it figured out at AAA, both offensively and defensively. player B isn't Floyd Are you really campaigning for Pagan over Murton? no, just playing devil's advocate and maybe trying to explain why LOU would start one over the other. career numbers are good and all, but I think Lou is a "what have you done for me lately" guy, and clearly Pagan has made the better of his AB's this year than Murton has

    Yeah, aside from Buehrle v. Zambrano(and I was there, hooray), no others immediately spring to mind. EDIT: Zambrano v. Young was pretty dynamite too. don't we get Zambrano vs. Maine during the Mets series too?

    .....or Clear Skies Ahead? I know it's a Sunday night, so the GM's may not be working the phones as much as they will tomorrow, but there has been a significant lack of trade buzz. Sure, a small deal here or there has come and gone, but no "Big Unit to Houston" or "Nomar to the Cubs" level buzz. Is this just the calm before some big things go down the next two days, or will the deadline come and go without incident?
