  1. Favre will retire as the all time TD AND INT leader
  2. because the player is being paid the most when he is likely to be playing the worst, making him that much more impossible to trade
  3. i think this thread title is a little out of date
  4. If we are going to set a limit of 3 embedded quotes, we need a modification so that it just automatically edits it down to the 3 most recent quotes rather than making us manually edit the post. Maybe it's in the works already
  5. at this point I'll be rooting for OSU to beat Illinois, if only to solidify PSU at 3rd place
  6. W/L for a pitcher mean nothing. The fact that he 122 ERA+ (IIRC) playing in the AL East tells us a lot more. If your intention was more to point out that he didn't have all that many starts against AL East teams, then I would buy that. by my count he pitched 68 innings giving up 29 ER for a 3.83 ERA. Broken down: NYY: 32.2 IP, 20 ER, 5.52 ERA BAL: 18.1 IP, 5 ER, 2.46 ERA TB: 6 IP, 1 ER, 1.50 ERA TOR: 6 IP, 3 ER, 4.50 ERA
  7. i think this is as good as Hinrich gets.
  8. Redskins laying an egg against the Jets. The Pennington thing is going to force me to change my players in the TD Challenge over at WCFB
  9. i voted 120x120, but I have a widescreen monitor (1200 pixels) so that's still just 10% of my screen width
  10. for a team like Pittsburgh, the manager isn't really that important (unless he's particularly good on an instructional level). Pittsburgh Manager = Professional Turd Polisher
  11. "Doing well in the AL East" is a term thrown around that people seem to accept without looking up the stats. Schilling's starts vs. AL East: NYY: 5 starts, 0-3 (2 ND's) BAL: 3 starts, 1-0, (2 ND's) TOR: 1 start, 1 ND TB: 1 start, 0-1 14 other starts: 8-4 (2 ND's)
  12. Yeah, Hendry is well known for that. hello? soriano?
  13. and...once again Hendry tips his hand and announces to the world his intentions. nice work Jim, great bargaining leverage
  14. last year was so funny. Ed DeChellis comes out in the pre-season and says "I think our weak non-con is going to hurt our RPI down the road." Yeah, so is LOSING to your weak non-con opponents.
  15. fixed While Noc does it too, Hinrich is ridiculous. I still think its hilarious USSoccer said he'd rather keep Hinrich than Deng. Hinrich is a terrible shooter, terrible ball handler, and he cant stay out of foul trouble. Nocioni is edging on Rasheed-level bitching though. It's really old
  16. I don't think you can look at penalties in a blanket statement like that. If a team is winning 31-0 and then gets called for 4 or 5 it doesn't matter. It's at key points of the game or when a team gets an advantage to when it matters. well I'll add that they have only been grossly out-penalized on two occasions, most notably the Illinois game. Otherwise it's been pretty even game to game
  17. as for the Michigan penalty thing: 2007: Michigan - 50 penatles for 425 yards Opponents - 54 penalties for 469 yards
  18. Marquis was no worse than some of the other losers the Yankees have trotted out there the past few years
  19. fixed
  20. wow, Little Ten. How original. btw, I think I called Michigan going undefeated in the Big 10 back when they were 0-2.
  21. Because they get tired of losing to Michigan year in and year out so they come up with crazy theories about how the referees are biased for Michigan and that allows the fans of the other teams to sleep at night without thinking their team sucks. Rather than "You know, maybe our team just isn't that good." it's "We're better than Michigan but they just get all the calls and the referees favor them." 2 seconds. that is all
  22. way to suck, Bulls, way to suck
  23. A-Rod Cabrera is 18 months from making Prince Fielder look like Juan Pierre
  24. he did draft aldridge. he then traded him for thomas
