One thing to note is that he's currently the #2 rated passer in the country while playing a top five schedule. Obviously his legs help him in that department as well, but he's a naturally gifted passer on top of being a great power runner. no doubt, and the game-planning people have to do to stack the box against him running makes for more one-on-one matchups for his receivers. frankly, if Tebow wins i'd be fine with it, though i think McFadden is the better player long term
How can you do an onsides kick off a safety? Isn't it a punt? Typically it is, but for some reason they let Kansas tee it up like normal. You can still onsides a punt though, it just takes a little creativity to get a good one. no, you can't onsides a punt. if you choose to actually punt it (rather than fake it) you are conceding change of possession. this is why a punt returner can choose to let a punt go and the kicking team only "downs" the ball if they touch it (as opposed to an onsides where they would be able to recover it after 10 yards and keep possession). i'm pretty positive that you can't onsides after a safety (the kick is considered a "free kick" and can either be kicked off a tee or punted at the kicking team's discretion)
I see your point but does anyone want to sit outside watching football in the upper midwest in December? yes, the same people who go to see New England, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, the Giants, Cleveland, etc. in the NFL
i'm pretty impressed by Missouri so far. i had no idea that they ran such a spread offense. A matchup with WVU in the NC game would be like 68-67 at the half
why does every coach in the SEC have an entourage of State Troopers with them (from their own state, mind you)? You'll never see Paterno or any other Big 10 coach with an escort.
Tebow is good because this is college football (which is what the Heisman rewards). No NFL team will run that many QB draws, and if he tried on his own, he'd be broken in half by an NFL LB. But since it isn't the "predictor of who will be great in the NFL award", go ahead and give it to Tebow.
