  1. willie mays 10 years from now: Albert Pujols is that because willie mays is dead or pujols has passed him in greatness? I'm saying he'll be a contender, not necessarily THE greatest. The greater point is that there are modern era players who should be in the conversation (Barry Bonds being #1 on that list). Pujols has the 4th highest career SLG in history, 5th highest OPS, 24th highest batting average (and 1st among active players). He also has a career 169 OPS+, 310 HR, .425 OBP.....all at age 28.
  2. Lohan bored with Michael Phelps already?

  4. when his career is over, where do you think Alex Rodriguez will rank in the list of "greatest living ball players?" at age 33, he ranks: 18th in career OPS 10th in career SLG 45th in career runs 112th in career hits 41st in career total bases 13th in career HR's 37th in career RBI 33rd in career runs created assuming he plays at least 4 more years, he'll be top 10 in many of the counting stats ETA: If, conservatively, he averages 150 hits, 100 runs, 100 RBI and 25 HR over the next four years, he'd rank: 9th in career runs 29th in career hits 5th in career HR 6th in career RBI add one more year and he's at: 4th in career runs 19th in career hits 4th in career HR 3rd in career RBI and those are very conservative yearly averages
  5. you're pretty much talking to yourself in that one
  6. I'm really rooting for Aramis to break 100 RBI before September
  7. I don't remember at all. Does anyone have the list handy?
  8. I'd rather Notre Dame beat Michigan. The whole 'bad team beats Michigan' thing was fun last year until Michigan turned around and handed us the most depressing beating in the history of football. But it's Michigan. and Utah isn't a bad team.
  9. I'm in 8th but way too far back to come back. oh well
  10. So, jump in the car and head for the 'Burgh. You can be there in 3 hours, no? If I hadn't just driven by Pittsburgh yesterday, I might be tempted You don't plan things so good, do you ? my wife has this thing for going to work and making a living. I don't know what's up with that
  11. You poor Penn State fans, always with the little guy syndrome. It's okay, Penn State will be good one of these years. I'd wager a bet that PSU wins more games than UM this year. I think the team that wins the PSU/Mich game will have 1 more win. Since there is about as much mystery in the winner of that game as there is in the OSU/Michigan game, I will take that wager I don't have much confidence in either team to be honest
  12. I'm in as JoePa LOL in College Pick Em' and Kyle Orton's Neckbeard on the two NFL leagues
  13. i see what you're saying. The point of it all was just that this Cubs offense is probably the most evenly balanced I've ever seen and it's exciting to see that Soto and DeRosa are way above expectations and that two CF's that Hendry picked off the scrap heap have had positive contributions (and made us forget about Pie for awhile) my intention wasn't to misinform

  15. What are you using to project that number? Edmonds/Johnson aren't one player. They have played at the same time. Combined, Cubs CF have 87 RBI this season, which is on pace for 108 RBI for the season. just going by ESPN.com's projection that Edmonds will have 65 and Johnson will have 62. I realized they've had overlap You shouldn't then say that Cubs CF are on pace for 127 RBI. Technically, I didn't. I said that Edmonds and Johnson combined are on pace for 127. None of the other positions are played exclusively by the players I listed either. It's just semantics

  17. Updated projections: C Soto - 90 RBI 1B Lee - 93 2B DeRosa - 97 3B Ramirez - 115 SS Theriot - 43 LF Soriano - 86 CF Edmonds/Johnson - 127 RF Fukudome - 62
  18. Don't hate they playas, hate the game or something

  20. anyone else cheering for Utah to beat Michigan?
  21. wait, those Turnbow stats can't be right. There's no way he has 41 BB and 28 K in 18 IP
  22. the curse of MLB Blackout Rules means I can't watch any of this series unless they're on WGN
  23. NBC's final montage was pretty moving
  24. Communism chokes on the men's platform diving final
