  1. i'll be cheering for you
  2. may have been the one time when Dusty's laid back approach worked. The 2007 and 2008 teams were as uptight as any teams I've ever seen in the postseason
  3. You might want to tell her to watch out for wearing crimson. Its a really great game to go to. Here is a list of fried foods this year. Thats right Chicken Fried Bacon... http://www.bigtex.com/foodlocator/ no worry of her wearing Crimson. she's there helping sell clothes from her company, none of which are that color
  4. I guess Carolina over KC in the NSBB Survival Pool was a solid pick for me, eh??
  5. so is something an "upset alert" if it's under 80%? Also, my wife is being flown to Dallas on Friday to work at the Texas/OU game.

  8. Cubs 2009: "We'll try not to swing at balls in the dirt this time."
  9. I think he just swung at another slider low and away
  10. i'm glad we have this thread. good to keep all the overreaction in one place
  11. Ladies and Gentlemen, the best offensive team in the NL. Round of applause!
  12. I have never seen a team have every important hit fall in like I have with the Dodgers the last 2+ games
  13. strangely conservative offensive playcalling from PSU today, but I'll take an injury-free conference road win
  14. hey Penn State: please don't look past Purdue. thanks
  15. Last night I DVR'd it to watch the debate. After Martin's double put the Dodgers up 5-0, I watched the rest of the game on 2x speed

  17. this is all so stupid. do any of you honestly believe that an entire team of professional athletes, men who have spent their entire lives competing and wanting to win, have suddenly decided, "you know, eff this, let's just pack it up and play golf"? listen, I know the team has played like Howry the past two days, but let's not pretend the team doesn't care or lacks motivation. they've played two bad baseball games, period. It happens.
  18. A) There aren't many Braves fans left. B) Braves fans saw a hell of a lot more playoff wins than Cubs fans, including World Series wins. Stupid comparison. I just was going to post the same thing. There's no comparison. the point is that the Cubs are built to keep winning in the regular season. There is a great chance they win the division again next year. I'll take a run of division titles and try our luck in the post season. The Braves didn't make it to the World Series in their last 6 playoff appearances. If we won 6 divisions in a row but didn't win it all would we all be crying like babies?
  19. I'm seriously considering not watching this game at all. I'm sure I'll weaken though...
  20. if Atlanta Braves were as suicidal about playoff losses as you guys are there wouldn't be any Braves fans left
  21. For those of you who feared that 2008 would be a repeat of 2007, good news....it's not. Bad news: it's worse
