  1. BC's resume: 20-10 overall, 2-4 vs. the top 25, 4-6 vs. the top 50, 2 losses outside the top 100, 6-6 R/N record, 7-5 in their last 12, SOS 47 To be honest, those 2 bad losses hurt their profile a lot, and they've had a fairly easy ACC schedule to get to 9-7 in the conference (the only upper tier team they played twice was Wake, while the only lower tier team they didn't play twice was VA). How is their profile that much different from, say, Northwestern's? If you think MSU/Purdue are on par with Duke/UNC I guess, but I don't Northwestern played MSU/Purdue 4 times. BC played Duke/UNC twice. true, so there's no telling what BC would have done had they had rematches. It's not a good comparison.

  3. Pomeroy HATES Penn State. They have PSU at #80 while Northwestern is at #61.
  4. the Bears could offer him a billion dollars and he wouldn't come here. T.O. is all about his numbers, and he knows that Orton won't get them for him
  5. I'll guess that Team B is Northwestern
  6. OU's case for a #1 seed rests entirely on how the committee treats the losses @Texas and to KU without Blake Griffin. But on your list I like MSU over both Louisville and Memphis. I'd probably favor MSU resume more than UConn's too. Not that the committee looks at it, but Pomeroy has Memphis as the #1 team in the country right now.
  7. I wonder when the last time both Northwestern AND Penn State were in the tourney the same year
  8. my god does WGN SD look terrible. I mean, really really terrible.
  9. the big ten doesn't stand a chance in the tournament. purdue looks terrible on a fairly regular basis... illinois held to 33 at home... purdue dominates michigan state by 19... really... i don't think anyone in the big ten would be in the top 3-4 in the acc or big east... except the Big 10 actually plays defense. Get Duke or North Carolina away from the ACC refs and see how far their flopping gets them the tourney is called more like the big east or acc than the big ten The Big East is called closer to the Big Ten than most Big Ten fans want to admit. which is why I only mentioned the ACC ;) But yeah, we're toast.

  11. If Billy Beane or Paul DePodesta were dead, they'd be rolling in their graves.
  12. judging by the # of views on each of these videos, I'd have to say that he's pretty much playing to just us right now. It's hilarious that he thinks he has a real audience.
  13. pomeroy gives northwestern only an 11% chance of winning at purdue. they gave PSU a similar % to win at MSU. at any rate, if PSU wins out, they'll be in 3rd place (as they'd hold the tie-breaker over Illinois).
  14. they couldn't find 5 more to make an even 50?
  15. Amazingly, Penn State is still alive to finish as high as 2nd place in the Big Ten. It would require PSU to beat Illinois and Iowa and for Purdue to lose to NU and MSU. Not so crazy a scenario....
  16. I would agree with this only because the media, especially Jay Bilas and a couple others, are trying to make it out like ND and Georgetown were both tremendous teams that just got the will beat out of them by how good the Big East was. In reality, the Irish and Hoyas were both very flawed teams whose flaws were exposed by good teams in the conference. I think the Big East is probably the best league in the country, even with the horrible four at the bottom (I'm biased, obviously), but it's not even close to the gap that ESPN makes it out to be. (It should be noted that since ESPN has a huge contract with the Big East that it would benefit them to have people THINK the Big East is some mega-league that's head and shoulders above everybody.) ESPN has a huge chub for Notre Dame and they refuse to admit that the team is exceedingly mediocre. It's really tiring
  17. battle of Cubs 5th starter candidates (past and present)
  18. did Vinny get a 2 year deal?
  19. I tried my link for the league and it's dead. Does this mean we're done?
  20. if last year's 1.031 OPS and 332 total bases = "disinterested", sign me up please
  21. It would be interesting if it became popular. But I don't think it has at all. Perhaps in another 15 years, after a couple rivalries build and a few "classic" games are played, and remembered, it will become popular. But you'll need far more stars playing in the tourny and not skipping. So if a tourney becomes popular with more stars playing, but how do you get more stars to play if the tourney isn't popular? don't ask them to play in it when they're supposed to be preparing for the regular season
  22. This is the case nearly every year, but I don't remember them skipping the 5th spot much. seems like they usually just give everyone an extra day rest
  23. notice the common theme in the two fights.... Between Illinois-Indiana and Duke-UNC? sorry, I misread.
